Quote: the original stevo "let's be honest judging roberts performance last night you couldn't have been any worse off without him, look at meli at stains. Was he not top try scorer until he was dropped?'"

Roberts was poor last night but he's been good for a while now, certainly wouldn't drop him for the semi's, way too risky.

Quote: jonh "This is the kind of statement that worries me and i hope you do not believe it. He is not worth a shirt at Wigan, although after last night it will be interesting to see the selection next week, as we all know what would happen had Ainscough played like that last night.

Ainscough has his weaknesses but if he were to play he would certainly not be the worst wingman in the league and is certainly a superleague standard player at the moment.'"

Forgive me, but these statements seem to contradict each other.

not really, Richards is a top drawer super league player, and Amos has been a very good player for us the last few weeks, fair enough he had a bad game last night but he's been fantastic the last few.

Ainscough would easily get in a team without a backline like ours, i'd like to see him go out on loan, rest of this season and probably next as well.

How?

Ainscough is in the reserves playing at his level. Not good enough for Wigan, probably never will be.

You are forgiven.

Aiscough has proved he is better than a good few wingers running around in SL at the moment including some established ones, so he clearly is Sl standard, he is being kept out of the Wigan team by 2 wingmen up to last night who were in excellent form, although clearly Roberts did not play well last night.

Quote: Bilko "Ainscough should be out on loan. Wasted in the reserves. To me it's pointless putting players that have had a good first team run back into the team at that level. A good loan spell will do him good. Hopefully they'll send him out for the whole season next year.'"

tbh last night proved what ive been saying for weeks.....if anyone needs to go on Loan its Roberts to get up to speed and do him good. Even with his errors on current form Ainscough is easily the second best wing man at the club, and as someone on here has already pointed out..had ainscough had such a shocker as roberts last night hed be in the reserves for the rest of the season, yet roberts as an 'aussie star' will escape!!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

He's certainly good enough to play for the bulls, he'd get in front of Sheriffe and Platt for the wing spots.

I for one hope he progressess a lot quicker than Penny, he seems not to have learned or kicked on (penny), hopefully lets send Shaun out on loan and see if he kicks on because the basic mould is certainly there.

As for Roberts he needs to stay here and train in wet conditions, on a dry track he looks ok, a bit of rain he looks like a 2nd rate pub player.

icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif that cracked me up.....but it is so true. If I was noble id attach a hosepipe to his shirt when he goes out to train at orrell so he can get used to the wet icon_wink.gif

You don't half talk some $hite, apart from his couple of errors Roberts was again one of our better players going forward from the backline and helped make crucial field position when we looked to be struggling to get out of our own 20. Are you going to say the same for Joel Tomkins who dropped the ball 3 times at crucial times during the end? No thought not.

Exactly. Joel was just as poor as Roberts with ball in hand and as you say his errors were at very crucial times. They gave Saints the reason to hang in the game and hope they could get the winning score which they did.

This Andy Wigan RL guy seems to hate Noble and certain players and constantly just pick up on their mistakes.

Joel seems to have a problem with keeping hold of the ball alot tbh. Hes always one I notice dropping the ball in the tackle alot. Its definatley something he needs to work on
