It's Wigan vs Leeds then.
What a strange decision although I agree (as a non season ticket holder for the first time in many years) with what some have said in that there are too many benefits given to non ST holders.

Yes it was obvious then but that was a SECOND tweet to an initial one which just said "BIG announcement in the morning - set your alarm clocks early". Of course it's obvious now in hindsight that the BIG in capitals was a big hint, but no one saw it that way and thats what led to all this fuss.

It was not obvious from the first tweet which is all that I saw on Twitter and this was then circulated on fb.

If there is no reduced ticket prices it makes it more of a wind up . Bit of a farce really just like year 3 when all the hype for weeks resulted in Sky moving the date of the game so they could televise it . Wigan didnt even change the date on the Ad campain till the last minute for that one lol .

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| The club has gone backwards in terms of marketing, fan engagement, building events and generally making fans feel like they are part of the club. Which is a real shame because they'd done so much in recent years to build those things up. They should be pushing for a 20k average, not putting the cue on the rack and expecting fans to turn up. What are they doing to encourage the next generation, the under 18s?
I can't be the only one who is concerned by our attendances this year. When you see the apparent lack of effort the club from the club (relative to recent years) you've got to ask yourself, are they even bothered?

| When asked for his opinion on this matter Shaun Wane said "bitterly disappointed", “No, I’m worse than that. I’m angry" “We have to be mentally tougher than that – that’s the disappointing thing" "It was far from anywhere near acceptable for me, just not good enough"

| Bilko is spot on. It definitely backfired on the club. You could tell that they realized the original tweet was taken out of context and thats why they started backtracking with later tweets to dampen the expectation. When Tautai signing was confirmed it was announced via Wigan TV, they billed that up and expectation grew as well and I presume it may have sold a few subscriptions for Wigan TV. The situation now means that if the club try to sell Wigan TV to fans at a later date by promising signings will be announced through it, fans could remember this and may be put off by a lack of expectation. Just a thought and all hypothetical though.

Haha now that would be funny. However Saints v Warrington is already chosen for that night.

I'm concerned about our attendances and the lack of interest from my age group, 17 & 18 year olds, who are generally looking just to have a good time. Me and about ten of my mates use to go home and away watching Wigan until they got bored of the match day experience and lack of atmosphere from home and away fans at games. They turned to football, not really supporting Latics just looking to have a good time and have a few beers with their pals. There is just no interest from my age group at all at the minute. The focus seems to be a lot of Latics in my specific age group which is sad to see from a rugby perspective. I don't see how Wigan can encourage my age group to start attending games again that's the problem.

| To be fair to Wigan RLFC they have made a bit of a howler on this one but in general it is uncertainty of when some games are going to be played that is driving people to become armchair fans IMO .
Thursday or Monday (in the past) night games make it impossible for a lot of fans to attend and once you get out of the habit etc . etc (not blaming Sky they pay the wages)
