| Quote: Conroy! "And if what zig says is true and it becomes knowledge that the stadium ownership has changed to 50/50, WRL or neither club then there is no way they will go to RP.'"
Thats their prerogative but decisions have consequences. If the football club needs, say £10m per season to operate, and refreshment profit from RP contribute £500K, then giving that money to Sodexho means someone has to make up the £500k. If Mr D is true to his word about being sustainable, then thats another £100 on your season ticket or another £3 on the matchday ticket price.
On the flip side, if the warriors fans continue to use RP, it makes it a lot easier to break even and keep ticket prices down.

Looks like Bickymon has given up, but is doing so in a more civilised way.
Bullitt is in complete meltdown. Couldnt happen to a nicer chap.

The couple who are starting to have a dig about a lack of spending by Danson are a farce! I’m thankful there is still a Wigan Athletic to support.

It's almost like they never learn. On the brink twice from over spending and now they want to spend.

| Quote: Conroy! "Interesting.
Said for years that the ownership should be 50/50 with both clubs able to do what they want on match days to try to improve their income and they live and die by their own sword on that sense.
You'll never get the majority of fans singing from the same hymn sheet but if the back office staff of the two clubs can then it will only benefit both.'"
Mike Danson is a Warriors fan he has no interest in football. It will be interesting to see who he puts in charge of the Tics. They should be grateful he has saved them. They now need to live within their means.

There's a few fans who for some weird reason seem to live solely to get one over on the rugby. Part of me hopes the stadium ends up in sole ownership of the rugby just to annoy them.
Then again, there's a few on the rugby side the same TBH.

| Im a rugby fan more than football now though I did watch Latics until a moment at a game which changed that. While I'm sure Maurice Lyndsey's words didn't help I can state as fact the the hatred for some reason was already festering long before as I experienced it that day. Anyway under this latest ownership it's time we tried to put that behind us the best we can. Will it mean I could go back to a Latics game? Well I'm more likely to now than before but I feel maybe for people on both sides of this with that sour experience it's sadly a ship that's maybe sailed. At least for fans like Nicky Kiss I'm truly pleased the footballs in safer hands. I also hope that funds are put into things at youth level and above that get the football fans onside to it being the right thing and they are worth watching. I also think it helps the rugby if the football go ok because with the stadium as it is we both need each other.
Does that mean we need a shared or our name on the lease agreement, well as long as we are secured legally long term with the ability to play odd games like the youth did the other night as well as the vast majority of our home games in a stadium that feels like home and that we are welcome, and as planned then that's ok. All the renting and cuckoo stuff as been annoying but things move on hopefully some binding documents will be put in place as a joint asset. While football is flush with money it's also flushed with huge debts and plenty local teams have been lucky to survive, RU and RL shows you need to live within your means as again we have seen plenty suffer and long-term it's the fans without their team that cry longest.
Maybe future generations can get along easier if things are done right and that can only benefit both clubs and the town.

| They just have this desire to be relevant don't they.
Be quite funny if Danson runs them into the ground

| Ian Lenagan has to be a strong contender for the greatest chairman and owner the club has ever had in my opinion.
Under his stewardship he has guided the club excellently and as someone mentioned in this thread earlier, he has really reaffirmed and further built on existing pride we have in the club. For me personally, he has taken that pride to new heights and a large part of that is the consistent success which has been brought back to Wigan. He has really re-established us as a successful force in present times/in the Super League era.
I'm nothing but thankful and grateful for what the years of Lenagan family ownership has brought. As someone else said on here, he has lived the dream. He's a lifelong fan and has had the opportunity to be chairman and owner and I'm of the age where my fondest memories of Wigan are during his time here.
A statue at the DW or Robin Park Arena would be completely appropriate and justified.
The only thing I think he won't miss is many people spelling his surname incorrectly! It's Lenagan* Ha ha
Thank you Ian and family for everything. I hope we send you out on a high at Wembley and Old Trafford.

| Nothing really to add on what has already been said.
I will though say when I did a charity event a number of years ago and promoted it within the rugby community via these forums IFL was one of the first to donate, which was totally unexpected and a mark of the character of the man.
Thanks Mr Lenegan for everything you have done for our club.
