| Quote: Moe syslak "Isn't Wardle under contract to hudds next season? For him to move anywhere surely whichever club it is has to stump up a transfer fee. My take on Watson's outburst is that wire were trying to either get him for nothing, or at least on the cheap. Whatever happens, I can't honestly see him playing at Huddersfield next season. This needs sorting quickly as it must be bugging the fans of all 3 clubs.'"
Yes he is under contract- and as a current England international when good centres are in short supply I would imagine Huddersfield would be wanting a decent fee for him. As I say I suspect hudds were wanting king as part of any agreement but wire messed that up loaning him out to wigan, and thought they could palm off some worse unwanted dross instead but Huddersfield said nah you’re alright since leuteles off we are short on centres so will just keep wardle instead.

You don’t half talk some nonsense. Your position has changed on this depending on which board you post and what the latest talk is by the coaches.

| Quote: NSW "I got a text on the 10th of June saying Wardle was replacing Bibby at Wigan (from a wire fan). Same source which got Cooper to Wigan before the media (and the prophet Dan).
But I reckon something has changed.
Wire only have Matautia as a senior centre for next year
Hudds will have Naqiarma (spel), Bibby and Cudjoe.
Wigan will have King, Thornley, Halsall.
Nene McDonald to Leeds, Leautele to Catalans/Leigh.
IMO looking at this Wardle to wire permanent makes sense.'"
Warrington have Wrench who looks a good player and someone who should be playing regular next season so that’s both centre spots filled.
Warrington might make sense but from the interviews with Powell and Watson it looks a non starter imo.

MY position hasn't at all changed! perhaps you can tell me in what way you think it has?
I like the lad as a player, he has some defensive frailties but is good going forward - but no one player is bigger than the club. I think hes messed up personally and should have been more patient. Like Hewitt who is now pushing to keep jones out of a spot.
We have his registration and if he really is going, in a world cup year we would be silly to not cash in and make some of the money back that we have spent on his development - especially as for more than two years of that money we got zero return.

Wrench is a good player but, given his ACL injury, he will be out of action for a long period.

It makes little difference if Wardle has signed for another club in 2024. You will get less than a zero return as you will be paying him to sit on the sidelines in 2023.

Huddersfield may not be fussed about a transfer fee if they want to get rid of him because of his rumoured clash with Watson and/or if they desperately need them off his cap.

| Wigan may well benefit from two players falling out with coaches, meaning they’ll be prepared to loan them out or release them to free up cap space to bring other players in. Had we approached Wire for King or Huddersfield for Wardle in other circumstances, we’d have been quoted good fees to take them (if they’d have entertained the matter at all). You could be worried about taking on players falling out with coaches but when the coaches are Watson and in particular Powell, I wouldn’t have any concerns whatsoever.

There's something cleary dislikable about Powell. Wane and him really didn't get on, no love lost at all. When Wigan won the WCC in 2017 Powell was the only SL coach not to phone Wane to wish him luck and then subsequently congratulate him.
I've had a couple of conversations with Wane and he was a good bloke, easy to get on with, lots of banter etc

Waney is a top lad. He’s seen it and done it on and off the field. A great guy to have in your company and 100% loyal. For what it is worth, your next coach is a very nice guy humble in both victory and defeat, I hope he goes well (but not too well), totally different in character from the ginger growler who, in my experience is not very likeable (I kept it clean in case any children read post on this board). Oops I forgot they do, WarringtonWolves69.

When you say our next coach I presume you mean Wellens? He sorted some signed shirts out for my lads and I’ve subsequently been for a beer with him and to his house a few times for a brew so I know him quite well and agree with you, he’s a top bloke.
Was talking about football with him before the Wakey game and my eldest lad who is only 11 couldn’t believe he knew me. Was telling all his mates later. Kids are easily impressed!
Who is the ginger growler?

| I think last night showed again what a gaping hole centre is in the squad, if Wardle is a no go then I hope we're still looking far and wide for one next season

He’s gone in to hiding after the saints Wigan game. I’m sure he’ll reappear if we bomb out the playoffs or final
