| And that one article, sums up Warrington wolfs perfectly. Good side, good coach but incredibly small time and small minded supporters

| Whats small time about getting behind an expansion franchise and supporting the development of rugby league in France....
They didn't have many supporters anyway so we were helping balance the atmosphere.
Maybe you guys could do the same for us if it ends up being us and them in the semis at Langtree Park? You know there won't be many wolfs fans going to that, and we know you would always support us over the Saints, there's no way you'd fear facing us more than them in the final...
Come on fellas give a small club a bit of support and help balance out those Saints fans...

| Quote: Conroy "I know we would obviously cheer for Catalans in the same situation, but I'm not sure the WEP would run several stories on it:
How sad was that though?

| [iIt was a way of saying thank you for all the hospitality shown to Warrington fans when visiting Perpignan for Super League games and, at the same time, getting one over Wolves’ fierce rivals Wigan.
Also, Wolves fans understood how important it would be for the growth of the game in France if Catalans could achieve the unimaginable and reach the final.[/i

I never went to that game and I always understood it as just being the fans that got behind les cats.
I can't quite believe that the club actually got behind and sanctioned it.
I bet the Catalans players were wondering what the blo0dy hell was going on.
Can you imagine any other RL team doing that?
It absolutely reeks of small time. I would be absolutely mortified if Wigan decided to do something like that.

I just wonder where the 'gratitude for Perpignan' applied when all those hundreds of Wire fans - including dads, mum, grandads etc - were crowded onto the bridges over the main road afterwards to jeer us as we went home.
What a bunch of phonies. Gratitude for Perpignan! Did it really take them five years to think up that excuse?

| Quote: tugglesf78 "It is genuinely cringe worthy
It's no wonder there are lots of threads about the Wolfs. The big story of Week One of the play offs was the pummelling Saints gave them at home. Add to that the fact that the Wolfs on these boards have been telling everyone how brilliant they are. And the fact that some Wigan fans have been agreeing with them, writing off Wigan's chances. It's newsworthy and amusing. That's why people are talking about it rather than the relatively routine (but impressive) win by Wigan at the DW.
