there wasnt much between the teams .a few mistakes here and there.saints played a very safe holding game in the second half .ultimately we were chasing the game ,and made a few line breaks which we couldnt score from .

Quote: MadDogg "It wasn't the best performance of Sam's career but the way he has dealt with the pressure and expectation in his first season has been extremely admirable. Especially for one so young.

Some would point the finger at Leuluai as well last night but he wasn't helped by his injury.

We had a good go at attacking them, we certainly built pressure. Sam's ability to force dropouts gave us a chance and will be a key weapon in future years.

My main regrets looking back at the match were a couple of decisions that went against us (namely the Tomkins touchline incident and the penalty given against Mossop which wasn't) a couple of poor defensive plays from the Tomkins brothers and Roberts respectively as well as a terrible dropped ball by Prescott. You can't make a mistake like that in these games.'"

Quite right but when you start form 6th place entering the play offs there is a good chance you will have situations such as McIllorum out injured before you get to the semi (and TL picking one up as well ). You would have to be very fortunate to emerge from the previous rounds and appear in the semi final not missing a player or two or have others not carrying knocks.

Saints were able to field the side they wanted. We were not. One day the penny will drop with a certain poster you need to finish as high up the league as you can to maximise your chances in the play offs.

As did I and he was drinking a j2o. Seemed more interested in talking RL with fans than the disease ridden tramps that occupy King St.

He's not far wrong to be honest. Missed some important tackles and certainly did shun the overlap and take wrtong options on a couple of occassions.

Terrific player though and now firmly in the "intake of breath when he has the ball" bracket. Looking forward to seeing him develop, looks like he has a good attitude and is a real competitor.
