May be legs in it

| If we can replace him let him go, if we can’t don’t.
Given our quota status though I don’t see how we can replace him with a better player.
Wardle, Newman, Percival King etc are not going to be allowed to move can’t see Gildart coming home till end of the year at least and we can’t look overseas unless we offload a player (Miski).
Let him go at the end of the year, absolutely and we have no choice anyway but I don’t see how we can let him go yet and improve the squad.

Surely that depends on whether or not his relationship with the coach has completely malfunctioned? If all he's doing is causing trouble, then we might be better off without him.
That said, it could be a strategy ... to make himself such a pain that we let him go without asking anyone to stump up what's left of his contract. So maybe it's best if he just sits out the rest of 2022. (I'd be damned if I let Hetherington have him for nothing, when he's technically still got 6 months to run).
I don't know what Zak's issues are, by the way ... I'm only responding to some of the stories on here.

I’ve been wrong before Matty and I will be again in the future so I won’t lose too much sleep if I’m wrong.
I trust Peet 100% on this.

Fully agree. If he stays then fine but if he goes on loan then there's reasons for it.

I've always liked Hardaker as a player despite his record but he seems to want to be off so I agree give Halsall a run in the side

Crazy that this time last year he was in the press saying he’s the best fullback in the league and now he isn’t even 2nd best fullback at Wigan.'"
He didn't say that though did he?
He said he believed he was the best defensive fullback in superleague.

| Whatever he said. He is still a gobe. Bye Zak, don't let the door hit you on the on the way out. If Peet wants to build a side without characters like that pillock in it then I'm all for it.

Agreed, he was then and he probably still is too.
Whilst he wasn't at the level we've seen of Field, Zak was very good for us at the start of last season.
That being said, I'd be happy for him and us if he went to Leeds. I really like the potential Halsall has shown. I assume Zak is a big earner and I'm sure we could use the cap space (this season) wisely in other areas. I wouldn't be surprised if Zak has already been told he won't be retained for 23 and that money has gone to Field.

I don’t get how you can say he’s still a gobe when we are unaware of the current details. To me sounds like your a bit hurt that someone doesn’t particularly want to play for the club and has in some way legitimate reasons.
To me I want to see Halsall in this side and it seems like a perfect time and chance for him to step up.
Zak has In my opinion always been consistent for us and even this year when all the rumours of him wanting a move started looks to put effort in to games. All I will say is if he doesn’t leave I hope the club benefits from the move.

| If things are simple and straightforward and can be sorted, I’d rather keep him. He’s experienced and is still a good option for us when compared to who else we have in the centres.
On the flip side though, he’s not valuable enough to us that we keep him at all costs. If his presence is disruptive and dealing with any issues is taking too much time and energy then a move away will be best for everyone.
Replacing him is extremely problematic though and it highlights why you might need that quota spot we’ve used by getting Miski in as back up or by keeping on somebody like Isa (who I like but you possibly could have sacrificed him given the amount of young lads we have there).

| If I have a criticism this season it's using 2 quota spaces on Isa and Miski. If they were one season deals I could (just about) see the thinking but multi year deals doesn't make any sense and could even bite us this year if the Zak rumours are true. I think, going forward, we need to be a little more particular when deciding which players to use quota spots on.

| Can’t see Zak wanting to go to Leeds. The 16 mile journey from Pontefract will be a real bummer at rush hour. He’s best staying local.
