| Seriously unimpressed with Joe Burgess. Far from a top winger, he offers less than Marshall in my opinion. As soon as Dom comes back, he has to drop.

Quick, say more bad things and he can set up some more tries!

| I thought we were very good and controlled the vast majority of the game,Salford had a purple patch which happens sometimes but other than that it was all in hand.
Best performance for some time for me,gives me confidence that we could maybe with a bit of luck get into the play offs or at least confidence we can pull a performance out at Wembley.

Couldn't disagree more with this. He was defensively sound, made a few breaks, set up the decisive try and was very unlucky not to score. He didn't look at full speed to me, I think he took a knock in the first half so wasn't at 100%.
The biggest positive for me today was Sam. I thought he was very good, he ran the ball a lot more and looked dangerous with it. I'd have a guess he made more breaks today than the rest of the games this season put together. Another big plus was MM. I can understand Wane's loyalty with Powell but for me MM should do 80 in the big games.

| On the whole it was a nervous watch, the ref/vid ref did a fantastic job at keeping it closer than it needed to be, to over-rule the on-field decision for the Burgess try with what was shown on tv over & over was ridiculous, there was absolutely no clear shot showing his hand off the ball...
Burgess just looks a little jaded, nothing that won't get sorted, maybe those games covering at centre took more of a toll than we realise? Thought Micky Mac looked great today. George was steady and TL did his job...however both could do with asking Carney for some 40/20 tips, those two he landed were fantastic.
I'm not going to go-in on Gelling again as last time I was slated...however, he was once again bang average in both attack and defense and his sin-binning put us under more pressure than needed. For a top-earner at the club, he needs to come good at the business end of this season and he just isn't. I hope a pending Manfredi return helps his form.

The Powel one, I dunno, Tasi seemed to turn in the tackle, Powel wasn't even looking, he spotted his contact point and then turned away during the tackle, in that second his contact point changed, so....accidental, unlucky for tasi I think.'"
it was a cannonball tackle player held 3rd man attacks knees we will see if rfl charge him

Whether it was a cannonball or not is debatable. But the Salford player was still moving forward when Powell went in. When Powell made contact Tasi was stopped and tried to twist in the tackle. It was 27.10 minutes into the game.

| Powell made contact on the upper thigh and slid down, the Tomkins yellow was a disgrace and I may be imagining this but I thought MM patted Child on the back on the play after Gellings yellow were Salford knocked on, did anyone else see this?

| The VR decision was one of the most blatant attempts of an official to influence the game I have ever seen. Thaler was absolutely desperate to overturn the on-field decision and didn't even attempt to hide it. He must have watched the same footage from the same angles 20 times as though it would suddenly change. He even said "there isn't conclusive proof" more than once but then overruled it anyway! Total disgrace.

| The Tomkins yellow was harsh. I suppose you could argue that in the strictest sense he did interfere but not worthy of a yellow surely. There'd be 4 or 5 sin bins per game if they enforced that. I won't hold my breath for this to actually happen though. And all the Salford supporters (and Wigan hating neutrals) calling for a penalty try can't be very familiar with the rules.

| We've done well to get through there. The officiating was suspicious to say the least so we can't be anything but pleased with that.
Great to see Sam Tomkins and Micky Mac back on top form and young Tom Davies was absolutely sensational I thought. He is a warrior in every sense of the word.

| Let's be honest, a few questionable decisions went both ways today. Powell should have been penalised for his tackle (he didn't hit the hips and slide down. Mcilorum passed after being tackled in the set before our second try and Burgess, to me, looked like he lost control of the ball before the line so i don't have an issue with that one either. I'd worry less about the refs and the fact we brought Salford back into it with stupid penalties, Clubb's backchat and Gelling's idiocy. We were lucky Carney went off when he did (courtesy of what Salford could argue was a late shot) because we were in for a rocky final 10 minutes. We played well in parts but we'll have to improve massively to beat Hull. Easily Sam's best game since he came back and possibly Micky Mac's best game of the season so far.
