much rather see fringe players + the new signings and a few first team players makes it much more enjoyable.'"
Fully agreed....don't wanna see Leigh get stuffed by Wigan's strongest side. 50/50 regulars & academy players will suffice.

| my point on the price for a friendly is in relation to the standard of the game.
friendlies are normally low quality half hearted affairs.
thats what makes it "pricey"
for a proper full bloodied game RL is a bargain.

| The strategy at Leigh seems to be family this season, free under 16's season ticket with adult or concession purchases for example
As an earlier poster stated £18 for a family of 3 is a good deal to sit down and watch the champions first hit out but to others £14 is unattractive
I still think you will bring a couple of thousand and we will see over 5000 on

I used to go to the Garrick on Sunday and Monday nights for many years, Roy Jackson from Tyldesley was the owner.
I remember one Sunday night I won two houses at Bingo which was held during the interval, when I went up to the stage the second time to collect my money I was booed .
All this came to an halt when one Monday night I was thrown out by the bouncer and in the process my brand new drip dry shirt was ripped. My mate (a Leigh junior player) had been to the toilet and when he came back he said that he was being thrown out for using the wash basin in an inappropriate manner (which he denied) the place was packed at the time.
I went to the door with him to protest his innocence, but the doorman chucked us both out.

That's the team I think we will see or close to it anyway I cant see any of the world cup lads playing yet apart from Eddy P but that team should be good enough to run up 30/40 points IMO. I Can't wait Rugby is like a drug and im in desperate need of a fix.

I think that would be a good side to turn out with flower and dudson on the bench, I think that team would create a close game

Can't see Gelling playing in the back row, I reckon he and Burgess will be on the wings, with one of them taking the left wing spot when Josh returns to the right. Other than that it depends what approach they take with the WC players I suppose. Gelling, McIlorum and Farrell only played two games and the latter two didn't play long in them so I can see them playing. Flower, O'Loughlin, Dudson and Pettybourne all did fairly big minutes in 3 or 4 games so perhaps they'll be rested. I'll go:
FB 26 Hampshire (Moving to SO when Tierney comes on)
RW 32 Burgess
RC 3 Goulding
LC 4 Thornley
LW 5 Gelling
SO 6 Green
SH 7 Smith
P 8 Taylor
H 15 Tomkins
P 17 Crosby
SR 14 Hughes
SR 12 Farrell
LF 20 Burke
S 19 S.Powell (Used @ SH)
S 23 Sarginson (C)
S 24 Clubb (P)
S 27 Williams (H)
S 29 Hopkins
S 31 Manfredi (W)
S 33 Greenwood (P)
S 34 Tierney (FB)
edited after learning Bateman's injured and Bowen + WC players won't play (I'm still expecting Gelling to play though)

Theyve Said today that Bateman is injured and wont be playing on Sunday, he pulled his back out in Florida and you maybe right with Pettybourne as i forgot about Dudson i think he needs to prove his worth too so he may start, dont agree with gelling on the wing though he's never a winger in a million years it's been proven by last years performances, hes much more dangerous in the centre spot and looked our liveliest player in some games

| The Wigan Observer reckons World Cup players plus Bowen are unlikely to figure (I'd guess Gelling and Dudson would still be up for selection though given their countries early exits) so I'd guess we'll look something like-
Hampshire
Burgess
Goulding
Thornley
Gelling
Sarginson
Powell
Crosby
Tomkins
Taylor
Clubb
Hughes
Burke
Subs
Hopkins
Dudson
Greenwood
Lever
C Farrell
Williams
Manfredi
Presuming we'll run with a number of subs. I can't see the first choice halfs being risked or lads like Flower or Liam Farrell.
