Not rose tinted from me at all. I dont think Fielden should be retained after this season but he did do well after 2 years out particularly, playing in a team with only 12 men for 65 mins and another not match fit player in Leuluai. More worrying for me is that the rest of the pack have provided absolutely no go forward for some time now and have looked like a beaten pack in the bigger games of late. |

Works both ways that.
He did pretty well for a bloke who's been out for nearly 2 years. He can and will do better as he builds up his fitness but it was a good first effort.
Will he get chance to do that? I'm not too sure. I certainly wouldn't play him and Dudson in such important games. We need to pick one and stick with them IMO. |

That's just to balance the discussion.
Fielden for the fourth prop position for me, providing there is no reaction to his injury. |

I'm a Fielden fan, and believe his experience next season, in view of the people leaving, would be invaluble if he stayed and was fit. Problem is that this appearance is all a little late in the season for those of us on the sideline to judge. Only those working with him will know just how fit, injury wise, he is. And indeed whether he wishes to be a part of the setup moving forward. Plans for forthcoming seasons would have been already made, and not dependant on his getting fit at this late stage in the 2012 season.

the reason i don't want him here is because of his age and also 1 injury and he'd probably be knackered for rest of the season, fair enough his experience would come in handy but too much of an injury risk for me |

depends what kind of contract he would be on............you can't deny that he would certainly be a benefit if he was fit for at least 75% of the season
