You could for example have a fan who goes home and away that wasn't able to get to the ticket office yesterday and so now can't go to the biggest game of the season. How is that fair?'"
I haven't read anything past the post by 21-12 below this post.
But how is not fair? Rewarding the people who put the most money into the club (by buying a season ticket every year) should be rewarded the most IMO.
I don't think the amount of away games attended should even factor in.

The point that me and 21-12 are trying to make is that a fan who goes to every game (or the majority) should be able to get a ticket to a game like Saints or Wire before someone who picks and chooses their games. As a Latics fan for example, I didn't get a ticket to Stoke last season because they went to those with previous away games. Rightfully so. Why should I get to see the big game and say "I was there" when I haven't been bothered the rest of the time?
Yes, it very rarely matters as tickets usually are available to everyone who wants one, so there isn't a problem doing things the way me and 21-12 are suggesting either is there? All we are saying is that the full away end should be given to Wigan and then sold in stages. Season Ticket holders will still get the chance to go to the game.

Costs the club more money to organise/staff.
Will take longer to sell our allocation as it will have to be done in stages pushing people towards trying to get tickets from the away club (As alluded to by Matt and others)
This in turn may mean less allocation for future games (As again mentioned by Matt)
Possible problems as people may/will have to queue numerous times to get tickets due to people in same grooup/family/friends having different amounts of loyalty points.
People will still "Borrow" points from friends/family etc meaning people who are not even ST holders etc get to the games (Same problem as now).
Now ask yourself this, Name me 1 occasion when ST holders have not had the chance to buy a ticket to an away game?
I think the answer from Matt was "ZERO"?
If your agreeing that ST holders should get priority over non ST holders then as far as I can see bringing another level of Priority in will solve what?
So what's the problem?

Mute point.
It's Sunday morning. The day AFTER the ST section of the sales ended. We haven't sold out (as far as I am aware?). Not one season ticket holder has failed to obtain a ticket if they want one.
What's the problem?

| no problem this time, as tickets were available online and by phone from day 1 of sale.......the problem is when they do what they did last year for challenge cup and sell to personal callers only on week days. Living 100 miles away and having a job meant i couldnt get a ticke in the lower tier and I hadnt missed 1 away game all season. That's the problem

There are still tickets available though! Every season ticket holder who has wanted a ticket has been able to get one. What's the point of doing an extended loyalty system when we are not selling out our allocation using the current system. If they'd flown out within 5 mins and there were thousands of people complaining they can't get one then I could understand. Other than potential cup semis and finals, this game and possibly Wire away are the only games where the demand for tickets could be higher than the allocation.
FWIW I'd love a complicated away game-based loyalty system to be required as it would mean we'd be selling out all our allocation each week. As it is though, it's not needed.

Classic example of why people that attend the most games should get first priority, more so for cup finals

If there were phones and online sales for the Challenge Cup then they would still be queuing now, there simply aren't the resources to cope with it. And, again, there was ample opportunity to buy tickets through the RFL for non season ticket holders or people who were unable to get to the DW.

That fan may be more 'loyal' or just richer. If you're going to go down that route, it'd be far better to judge based on whose put the most money into the club - and that's the people who buy and ST every year.
(I don't btw, as I can't afford every game - so it's not as if I'm only saying it as suits my situation best)

You can name it, but you'd be wrong!
At what point have any of those 10k season ticket holders not had a chance to buy a ticket?????
At what point have any of those that didn't buy a ticket (Lets say the other 7k) plus any Non ST holder not had a chance to buy a ticket for the game?
I think the problem here is people focussing on the wrong issue which is the Away club maybe should not be selling to the general public an area of the ground that at a future point is going to have some kind of restricted sale on it until the "Away" club has had chance to sell that allocation.
i.e
Send Wigan there 3k or whatever it is and if they're on sale for 3/5 days or whatever then put the rest (To Home and away fans) on general sale after that.
Either way your "Statement" is wrong as any fan has had (And still has I believe) the chance to buy tickets from St Helens and/or Wigan still?
How would the Loyalty points help then?
Over to you, I'll let you try and come up with a valid reason coz as far as I can see your just peeing in the wind over an issue that isn't one.
"I'll let you do the rest" ? I know your prone to the odd exagaration to make a point but even for you that's a pretty poor effort!

I also couldn't get to buy tickets at the club. I'd already known that before the semi as you presumably did.
I used my loaf; I stood on the terraces as Wire after the hooter in the Semi and stood still for 20minutes (while all you lot bounced about) and purchased via the RFL on my phone.
I've said it before, there ARE means and ways which means nobody is much disadvantaged for our two major finals.

My point is, that we have 10k Season ticket holders, but 3k tickets, meaning that 7,000 wont get tickets i appreciate that some people cant make it or dont want to go but im willing to bet that more than 3k Wiganers want to go to Saints away. So, in my opinion, that 10,000 should be filtered down so that the 3k people that DO get tickets are the people that went to the most away games last season, using a loyalty system. I cant really see a reason that that particular system isn't fair, its the fairest way to do it.
My statement is wrong, IN YOUR OPINION.
