Make it cheap fill it !'"
To be honest the price won't put Leythers off, i think more will turn out for this game than our league games, not heard anyone on our message board complain of the price, time will tell i suppose.

So you think £12 is a fair price for watching our under 20s play against your 1st team ?
Personally i dont, IMO you have missed a really good opportunity to get a very sizeable crowd as a lot of Wiganers i know follow the U20s as well as the first team and pay far less.
Add to this the beer and food inside LSV isnt exactly cheap.

The hardcore fans i agree with you, but to get more people in the town getting into watch leigh, needs a bit more of an incentive to stir up the old flames again especially if those individuals havent been for a while.
As to the boards fair comment however i know at least 6 regulars who have been put off by the price and do i assume it is not included in your season ticket ? so they have a point

No problem at all with the pricing from my point of view, although granted I'm going to watch Leigh - can't say who the opposing team are makes one jot of difference to me. I think the point still stands though that it's £3 cheaper to watch what was an arguably weaker side for O'Loughlin's Testimonial. As it is, people either want to go to the game or they don't - chopping a couple of quid off the difference wouldn't make any difference to the crowd, but it certainly would make a huge difference to the amount of cash my club can generate from this game.

Everyone will have their own opinions and nothing wrong with that, lets just hope we have a decent crowd, don't think this weather will help for the walk up fan though.

mmm, cheaper price, promote it locally, increase the crowd = more revenue !
As you keep referring to the testimonial, remember that price will be set by the testimonial committee along with the events organised for SOLs fund, so that team will be at the discretion of the club and at the request of the fund committe, so i think the comparison is flawed.
Remember Leigh are relying a lot on volunteers at the moment and a great job they do however there job would be far easier if there was an incentive for those they actively pursue to go to watch Leigh and one way would be a more attractive entrance fee, as once your inside the ground you have got them where you want them and they will spend more which is where your revenue is generated, especially in games where the old enemy is involved !

I'm one of those volunteers, and I can tell you that aside from programme sales and half-time draw tickets, we receive ZERO money from the beer/food sales, so our one and only concern is getting people in the ground in the first half.
What sort of price would you consider to be 'fair' for tonight's game?

So am i, even though i support Wigan i help out with your lower teams !
I didnt say anything about the food being your source of income, i stated that it was expensive, you do half time draws and programes and the more bodies the more scope for the the club to raise much needed cash.
My own personal opinion is that the price for Adults needs to be around £5-£8 mark with all the local amateur clubs being offered goods incentives also to sell tickets and get more bodies in there

So for arguments sake we'll say £6, ie half price, in which case we would have to double the expected 3,000 crowd. With all the will in the world, there is no way in the memory of man that 6,000 people will watch a friendly between a slightly weakened Leigh team (at least 4 players missing) and a Wigan team mainly made up of under 20s.

So you bang on a high price in the hope that people turn up ?
You stand more chance attracting people with a slightly cheaper price than a high one to start with

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go

It's a few quid cheaper than our league games. As I said, knocking a few quid off the price will make little difference to the crowd but a big difference to the eventual receipts. Safe to say I haven't heard many other people grumbling about the price.

Yes you can, £8 if you show your student card.
