That would be just before the Olympics start in the summer and the Metropolitan Police have put a block on any further events at Wembley or the like this summer due to stretched resources so it won't be this date.
Has that been any other press releases about this game apart form the mention by the chancers from Australia?

The Screwfix Stadium. That sounds feasible. They could sit the big fat Rugby Union props on the roof to hold it down.

Let's be honest, we should murder them at League but i hope its a hell of a close game in Union.'"
The problem is that it is a cross-code game with cross-code rules. The Bath experiment proved nothing, only that Wigan were the better league side and Bath were the better Union side.
The rules will be mixed between League and Union, but they slightly favour Union sides due to line-outs etc.
The fairest way IMO would be to play one half of league and one half of union, but use the same points scoring system for both halfs, maybe 5 for a try, 2 for a goal and 1 for a drop goal. That way it isn't easier for the Union side to rack up more points due to their stupid points system. The winner of the toss before the game could decide which half is played in which code. Play the whole game with 14 players on each team (middle ground).
If we play well in the league half we would murder any union team. Play like league players in the Union half and we could still rack up some points. Just look what we did to Bath at twickers in 96.
Whether people like it or not, the media will use this game to judge which code is better. If Sarries won then the media would hail Union as the better code, we can't let that happen IMO.'"
Saints -v- Sale did it like that a few years ago. Think it finished 41-39 to Sale, with Long missing a kick in the last second to tie the score. Obviously it was 41-0 to Sale at Union, and 39-0 to Saints at League.....so completely pointless, all in all. Sale just kept on rucking and mauling in the Union half, a number of scrums got pushed at least 50 yards downfield by Sale, then they kicked for touch and won the lineout.

| I think the only way a cross code game would work would be if the rules were sorted out and make it into an annual thing with a SL All-Stars v Prem All-Stars. That way the players would get used to playing a hybrid game and we wouldn't see the ridiculously one-sided games we saw in the past.

| The whole thing is boring and pointless.
Best thing to do with the idea is forget it!
As for the Saints/Sale farce. Saints were playing under 6 tackles rule and Sale had unlimited tackles. (Phases)
If Wigan RL buy into that they want their heads looking at.
Either 6 tackles for both or unlimited tackles for both.
Where on earth did this crackpot idea of yet another cross code game come from in the first place?

It was a waste of time completely and don't forget Saints where still in pre-season training and Sale where over halfway through their season, says it all really.

Isn't that the same excuse the Aussies use whenever they lose a WCC game?

| Just been messing about on Twitter and noticed a couple of days ago Phil Bailey asked Lockers when his "London testimonial" was and Lockers replied not confirmed but probably sometime in October. Surely this cross-code game?

No, there's a 'black tie' dinner in London in June.
