it is a big difference. I used to sprint and half a second is huge.

what's more important in rugby is the first 5 -30 yards if you can pull a yard or two over that distance, even if the chasing player is slightly faster you will have the advantage on a clear run.

as regards the sprint race , Ben jones bishop, jodie broughton , reece evans the hull player , did not play a single game, where as Ryan king played 2 games prior to the race. Something not quite right there if you ask me

Nah it was unfair tbf if he had played not long before but at the end of the day it doesnt matter its what he does on a pitch that matters. Dwain Chambers would have outrun pretty much any player in SL but he was no good at rugby he didnt have the basic skill required so pure speed isnt everything. It just would have been nice to win that haha

The 'fastest man in rugby league' was a sideshow at the end of the day. If you ask Salford fans, I'd imagine most of them would rather have won the 9s than have the fastest player in the game in their squad. Have you seen the size of the trophy?

Also though, another way to look at it would be that the wigan lad had been properly warmed and loosened up whilst the others tht didnt play were not. Either way its not really a big deal.
