There's a lot of cherry and white tinted specs being worn at the moment.
Wire have the best attack and the best defence this season. Sure, we're only half way through, but I can't see them falling apart this season. They might lose 2 more games before the play-offs, but I just don't see any weakness in them right now, and I, for one, think they are the favourites for the GF and the CC as well.
Disrespect them at your peril.

You don't think the above comment is 'getting carried away ( just a bit)................'

Wigan were the best side over 27 rounds in 2010 and finished top. Prior to that, not much evidence in the last decade to back up what you say.

Where in my post did I 'w*nk over warrington'?

I merely said that we were just as bad as the wire fans this time last year getting carried away thinking we were unbeatable......

I meant that we would have been there since round 3 (in my opinion - we'll see on 6th July if I'm right) if not for a schedule clash. If we beat Cas then it will show that the top spot was rightfully ours from round 3 onwards.

Does it really matter if they finish even one try ahead of us in the league?? It didn't do us much good last year finishing top. We had to go away in the final eliminator after getting beat at home. It's nice to win the hubcap but counts for nothing if you don't win the GF. At the moment they're scoring points for fun. Long time to go till the end of the season. Their form may have gone by then. The top four now looks like the top four at the end ofthe season to me. All very strong and capable of beating each other home or away. In any game I would fancy us against them.

Fully agree, 1st or 2nd doesn't make much difference nowadays.....However, after recent encounters over the last couple of years, I would be much happier facing Wigan than Huddersfield or Saints....We have definitely shown a slight dominance over Wigan in recent tussles and there would be no reason to fear a clash with the Cherry & Whites.

I dont think any wigan fans are exactly shooting a load over our current form, they just have a justified respect, thats all. We are playing well, you may win your game in hand etc, who cares! There's nothing between Wire and Wigan really, its just you seem to have contracted a bad case of paranoia toward your fellow fans.

If I were you, I wouldn't fart for fear of shatting myself.

Quote: Cruncher "If I had meant that, I'd have said it. But as it would be complete nonsense, I didn't.

Even at our level - fans discussing games online - we can afford to be realistic. I don't think that pretending Wigan are miles better than Wire is any basis for a sensible discussion.

I repeat that I think Wigan have the ability to do Wire, and they may well do them when the time comes. Wire, for all their current form, have proved to be chokers in the play-offs and Wigan have much more strength-in-depth than they are displaying. But Wire have got the drop on us in terms of match-points, which may be very important come the end of the season (that's an area where Wigan can do much more than they currently are), and they have really got on a roll at present whereas we seem to be sputtering along (albeit we're still joint-top, which is a very good sign).

I can't second-guess the bookies. I rarely agree with them anyway, but this assertion of yours contains several ifs - not least the bit about us winning our game in hand. Bear in mind we've actually got to win it (and it comes midweek, which will be a challenge in itself). Again, I've no doubt that Wigan can do it should they get their act together, but we seem to lack the eye of the tiger this season, and that counts alot more to me than hypothetical speculation about what MIGHT have happened IF a different fixture list had been played.

Wire still haven't convinced me that they are guaranteed championship material. I've said over and over that they are the best team in the league AT PRESENT. But I still suspect their communal age will work against them at some point, and form - even excellent form - is temporary.

And so us a favour, eh - don't be implying that just because supporters are concerned about Wigan's present performances that means they are disloyal. That's quite an arrogant attitude to take.'"

Sensible and well balanced. Think any real Wire fan would agree. We're making big statements at the moment, and for me personally, its been a privilege watching us lately. However, the playoffs will pose an acid test where we have notoriously unachieved. Although I am confident we will make a far better impact this season, regardless of final position.

Who knows what will happen!? If you take the two points against Cas, and we remain in good form, it could come down to our next league game. And we shouldnt discount Hudds either really.

True but you always lose the week after playing Wigan. Which is not recommended in the play offs.

Berk. I make an entirely truthful statement and look what it gets me. And if you don't think Wire have a goodly haul of trophies to show for the past then you'd better revisit your RL history.

Whatever - no club can claim to have a right to be No 1. If you think otherwise then you are an misguided fool.

Warrington are playing really well at the moment, anybody who thinks differently is deluded.

Can they maintain that form, I'm not sure, but why not? We did last year.

They now are in the "box seat".

They have their nearest challengers, Huddersfield, Wigan and Saints to play at home.

However, Wigan have won at the HJ on their last three visits, and Saints have had a hoodoo there for ages.

Then factor in the challenge cup game.

Interesting times ahead.
