Nothing wrong with big men grinding down the opposition with big hits and winning the collision, what you are being accused of is the more sinister wrestle in the tackle, bending peoples limbs into dangerous positions, putting pressure on your opponents joints etc., a tactic which is employed by your full team, not necessarily the "hard" men.

Yet i believe it was John Sharp who worked with the referees pre season, after outclassed coaches had been whinging, to show them what defending players are trying to do and what type of tackle would be dangerous and illegal. So the referees no what to look for in an illegal tackle, and they very rarely penalise us for doing anything dangerous in the tackle

You seem to be missing the point that we're not arguing about just one game, this has been happening for a while and now people are just getting sick of it tbh. But yet when we state that we're not the only team/fans to raise the issue its "because it's Wigan". Pathetic.

And yet the recurring theme of it is from coaches and teams who have lost to Wigan.

Did St.George complain about our technique? Did Leeds after they won at Wigan in the playoffs last year? Did Quins when they beat us last April?

It's about time more coaches accepted the fact that their teams and tactics simply aren't as good as Wigan's, and stop looking for a tired excuse to hide behind.

we are sick of people come on here saying that we cant play and we should be allowed to carry on playing like we are doing, and not one person has come up with any evidence to support their argument. It all sounds like sour grapes, and most teams that do it really need to watch their own team!

What is sinister about wrestling in the tackle? All the defenders are doing in this case is trying to turn the attacker onto his back to slow the PTB, a tactic that has been used for the last 20 years that I can remember. Wigan and Huddersfield do it better because they have trained to do it, whereas other teams are trying it with less practice at it.
Jeff Lima has been charged with this in two matches, and quite rightly got a ban for it.
It is not our whole team that is doing it. One player has been charged and banned for it.

As much as it is tempting to accuse a whole team of dirty tactics when you are angry because you have lost a match, it rarely makes your argument convincing.

But it's not Robert Peston writing it is it? Robert Peston tends to write in a grown up manner (which is why you have mentioned his name presumably). Paul Cooke plainly doesn't, as evidenced by this piece of opinion (devoid of fact).

If what was written was based on any evidence rather than playground slanging, then I would take it more seriously. One Wigan player has been banned for a chicken wing tackle, yet Paul Cooke's piece implies the whole team are out to deliberately injure other players. There is no evidence for that whatsoever.
