I was just thinking the same thing.

As i'm only 20 i've never really sensed us being disliked, but the way we've got opposition coaches/players/fans spitting their dummies out left right and centre is nothing short of fantastic. You know you are on top when all anyone else can do is bitch and moan and call you cheats. Long may it continue. The "Hated Adored But Never Ignored" flag is just so spot on.

Dave, Dave, Dave, calm yoursen down. Everybody has a go at everybody in these forums and everyone banters at the matches, it's not just Wigan. If you compound this victim mentality then that's all you will ever be. Last season showed that Wigan can again be so much more so suck it up and smile.

Once again the opposition comes out with this trash talk during the week and we sit back quietly and do the job on the pitch.

Getting a regular thing now..

I remember a few years ago when Huddersfield were the target of 'wrestling' whinging and Noble made some pre-match comments about their tactics - something like "I hope the referee keeps an eye on their tackling technique". As a Wigan fan, I found it quite embarrassing.

Potter's pre-match tirade was a lot worse than that and I'm sure many Bradford fans would rather he'd have kept his mouth shut. Especially now.

As for our coach, Andy Wilson (The Guardian's RL journo) voted him the least quotable coach in the game last year. Let's hope he wins it again in 2011.

After conceding eight tries in today's game Potter should concentrate more on his own team's tackling technique and defence structures rather than talk about the oppositions.
Wigan RL do not respond to these comments and after the final score his remarks seem all the more embarrassing than before and that was bad enough.

If any further evidence of Wigan's return as the top club in British RL were needed, we have the ridiculous hatred, bitterness and barely disguised envy being shown from all corners of the RL world.

Personally I love it and long may it continue!
