| Its certainly going to be interesting to see who we retain from the current squad. Potentially there could be quite a few on the way, or we could retain the majority & go into next season with great continuity.

I think we only need one or two to go.
Not much needs doing in the backs, potentially Phelps and maybe Carmont.
2nd row is sorted for a while.
Props are the only other problem area maybe. One of Fielden or Coley to go, maybe Prescott (as I feel O'Carroll has overtaken him at the moment). With Bailey to go as well.
Sign maybe a centre, and a prop.

I'd certainly like us to maintain the majority of the players we've got. Including the likes of Pryce and Phelps as days like today show why we need versatile players like these in the squad.
I'd let Fielden and Bailey leave for definite and I’d give Marsh some more game time to see how he goes as a potential Carmont replacement.
If we let Fielden go then i'd look no further than brining in Lima form the Storm as his replacement. Although many would get rid of Feka i have to admit I’m a huge Feka fan and I like to have an impact player from the bench.
We don’t need major changes only slight tweaks to the side. Lima for Fielden would be the big one and brining through some more youth can’t hurt as long as we’ve also brought in a top name.

Pretty much agree with this, my only concern if letting Bailey go is the amount of work he does with the youngsters and the respect they all have for him, at the point in that development we are at, we need to ensure that nothing happens that could be detrimental to that process.
Phelps would stay for me, regardless.

| I'd keep hold of Phelps, Goulding, McIlorum, Prescott and Hansen without question out of the out of contract players and i'd also more then likely keep hold of Fielden and Coley if they're willing to play on.
Out of the rest of the out of contract lads i'd be willing to see whats out there in terms of replacments for Carmont and Deacon but wouldn't be against either staying if we can't find players of the correct standard.
I'd release Pryce, Bailey and Feka.

To allow Fielden to go would be madness assuming we could agree a reasonable deal. I really enjoy watching Feka but if Lima was to be recruited it would be at his expense.
Pryce and Phelps can also go for me now. Roberts need to play 1 for me.
Bailey had a good game today but is running on aged legs. I assume Carmont will be with us in 2011.
I fell we need now a Prop, wing and centre at the expense of Feka, Bailey, Phelps and Pryce.

Im not sure, Feka does offer something different in terms of forward play. Fielden has much improved, but id keep Coley over him, and evolve the pack with a new prop at his expense.

Phelps offers great coverage in many positions, and for me, still is a valid option for fullback. Pryce, I think, will be released.

I hope not, Carmont has been immense, but his body is breaking down, that is one position we can improve next season and must. Bailey wouldnt be a first pick next year, but if we could keep him in a Deacon role, I would.

Wing is the last place id spend money on. Goulding is more that adequate. Lets spend the money on quality elsewhere, anybody can finish. Look at the likes of Hall & Gardner, and even Goulding himself as examples of that.

His leadership can’t be enough to keep him at Wigan. If it was then we’d still see players like Radders playing or Farrell once player’s legs go like Baileys have then sadly leadership can only get you so far.
I have to say that Bailey isn’t as bad as his worst critics suggest nor is he as good as his fans on here would have you believe.
I’m happy he’s here this season and that we didn’t get rid of him but sooner rather than later we’ve probably gotta say that his on the field performances aren’t as good as what they should be. We’ve gotta realise that players like Hansen and Joel are better starting options and players like Farrell and Mossop deserve the bench spots because they are our future.
In terms of leadership I agree he offers a lot but I’d like to think that we can find a player out there who is not only a better player than Phil Bailey but also has the same leadership qualities as well.
If we can’t find a player who is better and also a leader then maybe it’s time for some of the guys in the squad to stand up and be counted?

| If somebody said now we'd lose Carmont, Pryce, Bailey and Feka for next season and bring in only Shenton and Langley i'd be more then happy tbh.
We'd also hopefully have Hock coming back part way through the year and then guys like Marsh would take a couple of steps up the ladder.

If you bring in Lima you have Feka with stamina and technique. Fielden gets through a boat load of work especially in defence.
Carmont had a contact for next year if he reaches a certain number of games, i do not see him walking away from that, he has stated on a number of occasions he needs the contract to support his family.
Bailey is struggling for me, we have next year, Hansen, Tomkins, Farrell, Mossop, Hock. In the age of the cap we are no longer in a position to stock pile players.
Regards Phelps I see a the likes of Marsh providing that level of cover

LMS in my opinion is the new Chris Thorman, gets a lot of hype because he is not from the heartlands, but in truth is very average.
