I wouldn't swap Feka with any other prop in the league apart from Graham and i truly mean that as well. Peacock and Morley are very, very good players but at the very end of their careers at 31 and 33 respectively imo.
The most overrated Wigan player has to be Amos Roberts or Phil Bailey imo.'"
Because Feka plays 20-30 minutes a game and the last couple of seasons he's been very inconsistent, makes many errors in defence that many of our fans don't see for some reason but are easy to start chanting his name evey time he takes the ball up, cringe! He's a good player when on form but he's vastly overrated at our club by some of our fans. That's what this thread is about!

Simple, ask Peacock & Monaghan, because everytime he comes on they point, smile and run straight at him. He is overated by us more than he is by our opposition's fans. As for not swapping Feka for another prop in SL, I would have (top of my head), Peacock, Leuluai, Graham, Carvell, LMS, Crabtree, Ryles, Guissett, Lynch, Mason. Can't think of any more now it's a little late. Eamon O' Carroll too I would start him instead of Feka.
Finished.

Seriously I’d love some of what you’re on pal.
I’ll stand by my post that the only prop in SL I’d take over Feka is Graham as he’s the only player that comes close to having the potential Feka has.
Leuluai, Carvell, Crabtree, LMS, O’Carroll, Gussiett, Mason & Ryles are miles behind Feka imo. You only need to look at the meters, tackle busts and off loads an unfit Feka has made this season with his limited ‘substitutions by the clock’ to see he’s in a different class to the others.
Everyone bleats on about how players like Bailey and Fielden are undervalued because of the work they get through and how their defence is quality but don’t take into consideration the other aspects of their game? Yes they are good defensive players (not quality btw as that’s what I’d class players like Hindmarsh as) but they don’t offer us a whole lot else bar experience?
Now Feka isn’t the best defensive player out there but he is one of the best impact props in SL if not THE best out there and this is with him being unfit to boot.
People speak about how we should swap Feka with this or that prop but if we were to lose Feka then I’d shudder to think what our go forward would be like.

Wouldnt that be Fielden? I suppose he was over-hyped more than over-rated though.

Not really no. Whilst Fielden has cost us a lot of money, he assisted us in staying up and we lost Moran.
Hansen cost us money as well as Sean Long who went on to be one of the best (if not the best) GB 7 in recent years and has haunted us on many occasions. Yes off the pitch he's a t1t, but you can't fault him on it.

So on that basis, Peacock Lynch, Graham, Morley, Paul Clough, Mason, Ferrioll & LMS all made more metre's. As Feka is not even in the top 25.
Lynch, Crabtree, Salford Ray Cashmere and Celtic's Mark Bryant all made more or the same amount of offloads as big Feka, and Feka only made 3 more offloads than Hock.
The only good stat Feka has is Tackle's busts. So 1/3 isn't to bad.
As for our go forward people said the same when Hock got banned and IMO we played better rugby, and IMO if we had another hard working prop rather than a 20min match crowd pleaser, we would have a better side.
Don't let your heart rule your head.

How long are they all on the pitch for? Unfortunately its harder to compare front row forwards on the stats than it is the back row forwards and backs as the former are far less likely to be 80 min players and it will vary from player to player.
Next year will be a big one for Feka assuming MM & SW want him fit not fat and then we will be able to judge if he is over rated or not. The same applies to Riddell who I mentioned earlier. There is potential for improvement in both these players and it was a dereliction of duty on Noble's part that they ended up as being considered unfit by most fans so it's a bit odd to ignore this significant factor IMO.
If neither of them respond to what we all expect to happen fitness-wise under MM then I think they will both soon run out of supporters on the message boards.
Other players don't have this excuse, are as good as they are going to get and so maybe they are are the ones who are really overrated.
I certainly would not bin Feka off now with the new regime coming in because he has the potential to be so much better and he also provides a lot of entertainment. We have been as boring as hell to watch at times and when he comes on it has been one of the few lifts the crowd has got despite the obvious spare tire he has carried around his middle.
So a clean slate for all the players IMO, even Riddell who despite having the potential to get fitter still isn't that good anyway And before anyone says Riddell lost weight when in the NRL and got worse not better then if that applies and he is at his "optimum" weight already I take it all back about the clean slate for him and he may as well leave now. I mean how can a player get fitter and get worse?

I agree with you the fact that next year is a massive year not only for Feka but for all our front row forwards, as well as Forshaw (if he stays on). But I feel Feka needs a massive kick up the backside as for Riddell never seen it never got it. The guy is pants Leuluai & McIllorum to compete for the 9 jersey next season if I had it my way.

Most over rated player of all time
Not too sure if over rated, but I bloody hated that man. Remeber him coming off in a game before the team one a cup (can't even remeber if it was club stuff or International).
He had been off the pitch for 5 mins and went up to get the cup and in the 5 mins had managed to put a chavvy ring on every finger. I thought ' there's a man to represent this great game' as my mates I was trying to convert to league were laughing their heads off.

Whoever is playing at 9 get MM to give them Cam Smiths phone number so he can explain what a hooker is bloody supposed to be able to do!
