| Quote stillinthepast="stillinthepast"I am an owdun but maybe I can explain what may have caused the confusion (Conroy has partially already done this).
If the Ref pulls both cards out of his pocket at the same time and one is Red on both faces and the other Yellow on both faces and holds them together what do you get, confusion.
The Ref holds up the cards and he can see the Red side,MM facing the Ref can see the Yellow side. Just a theory, but as plausible as any other.'"
This could be the explanation but the red side was definitely facing McIlorum, hence why everyone in the South saw that it was red. If he was holding the yellow card behind the red one then it might explain why everyone who was behind the direction the ref was holding it (ie past the 30m line in the east) thought it was yellow.
I was in the south, the ref only showed one card, a red one.

i think some refs do use the diffrent shaped cards, but don't they also keep the cards in diffrent pockets, when he binned Pryce i'm sure the card came from his front pocket, with MM the ref definitely went to his back pocket.

| Quote OJ="OJ"There was a lot of niggling all match, seemed like part of their game plan and it worked. They were at him all match I listened to GMR commentary and Phil Kinsella said Micky Mac's kick was a poor one - he failed to mention that someone had just taken his legs from under him. Was waiting for Gaz Hock to explode in the first half but fortunately he didn't. Apart from being in his face all the time I was pretty sure some of the Bradford players were concentrating on pulling his shorts down which was just nuts but I suppose if you want to niggle someone you'll try anything and others will try the same so the team need to learn to rise above it or it will cost us again.'"

Bradford's pants? If you're going to try to make a joke at least get it to make sense - incorrect grammar can change the whole meaning to that intended.

The Dire's is worse. You'd think that someone who has only just had a ban lifted would learn, wouldn't you?

It would be interesting if anyone had a photo from behind the Ref,it may show something.
Even in the Radio Manchester commentary there was confusion,at first they thought it was yellow before changing their minds to red.
