Quote 21-12="21-12"Finally, a sensible neutral post.
This anti-Brigantes brigade is getting pathetic. The atmosphere at away games especially has been terrific as are the flag displays, other fans of other clubs have commented on it time after time.
I would like to add, the culprit has rang the club and admitted what he did last night, the other person that was involved has been banned from the stadium for life, One of them WAS a Wigan fan, the other was not a Wigan fan.'"
Hang on - I'm not sure people are against that "The Brigantes" want to achieve. As I said earlier, the flags and atmosphere created has been great, certainly better than it has been in recent years. I applaud what they have done. Wigan RL is the world's premier RL club, and as such, needs a great set of supporters.
I hope that clears that up.
However, I think some people, myself included, aren't comfortable with this creation of a "label" to distinguish a bunch of people who
appear (to some of us anyway) to want to be the 'elite' clique of supporters. To me it seems a bit childish in an "I'm more committed than you - look I'm a Brigante!" type of way.
I appreciate, however, that this may not have been the intention. But that's certainly the perception.
