He'd do more than a job in SL, he's been the outstanding centre in the Nrl this year. He just had an average game today.

Agreed, as much as I wanted and hoped the Blues sneaked it at the end, he definitely deserved to be on the winning side. If I'm honest the QLD backline was pretty ordinary today, 2 of their tries where off bad defensive errors by the blues, especially last try the blues defender was more interested in smashing Lockyer which left the gap wide open for Slater. The Blues tries were by far the better quality, but Scott was outstanding in the forwards for QLD and definitely deserved to be on the winning team.

I think his best position is in the second row. His defence in the centres is somewhat lacking.

I said that tongue in cheek, in the vague hope that we somehow end up signing him for next year

His positioning is poor but he can learn it. He will only ever be an average SR with some of the class they have in the NRL but he has the potential with his size and pace to be one of the very best centres.
Any poor defence he usually makes up with some big hits and big runs.

| On form this season, Gasnier is way ahead of Idris, when Idris breaks through it makes you sit up and take notice, but for all round work rate in defence and attack Gasnier is still the main man. If Ricky Stuart asked Cooper to play rep for the remainder of the series, I think the Marroons would have to up a gear.
Come on Billy and Darren!!!

Who would your drop for Cooper? I assume it won't be Gasnier and Jennings played really well I think. It's a depressing thought though. Gasnier, Jennings, Idris and Cooper would all walk into the England side, and in Maroon you've got the likes of Inglis, Hodges, Tonga and Nielsen. Embarrassment of riches doesn't quite cover it lol

There are players who will never get near Origin level who could make it in the England side. Especially in the outside backs.
For the blues you havn't even mentioned Hayne, Gidley, Lyon etc who have all played over the last few years.
There is not a single outside back who is English who could get near Origin and there is only a couple of overseason outside backs who could get in like Monaghan, Richards, King, and Hodgeson.

He is best learning this before getting put in a Blues jumper. And without a solid defence, any barnstorming runs are not going to make up for it.

| Gaz is overrated. Not looked the same player since returning from RU. Idris is far more dangerous, far harder to handle as he causes defended to work harder simply to contain him. I'd like to see Boyd trying to dump Idris on his .
Dugan is a quality 1, but Hayne is something else, a real game winner, he should feature.
QLD have a big advantage as Smith can do 80mins at 9, freeing up a bench spot as no interchange is needed.
Maybe NSW to start with Ennis and have Hayne on the bench. For me Hayne needs to play.
Gotta take my hat off to Matt Scott best prop in the game in my opinion.

So? Watch him week in week out for the Dogs and you'll see he is suspect defending in the centres.
