Every player in the league cheats/bends the rules whenever they think they can get away with it. Sam tomkins gets highlighted because he plays for a club that most people hate for one reason or another. Sam has not done anything that we havent seen before. People try snapping his head off but people make out that him clamping arms etc is a bigger crime!! Get real



All the people slagging him seem to like it when players are dishing it out to Sam but when Sam takes revenge they start crying!

He is a bugger for the arm clamp! Everyone in the ground can see it barring the refs! No point trying to take his head off he either makes you look silly by evading the shot or by getting up from it and not shirking a thing. Tough as well as good the complete player. Only player we had who could tackle him yesterday was murphy who seemed to wrap him up ball n all every time he got near him. 13 more like him and we might have held you to nil nil as to be honest your defense was phenomenal and we never really looked like scoring

I'll say what I always say about Sam and thats that he takes far far more then he dishes out and fair play to the lad for keeping as cool as he does at times. We see him being targetted week in week out and he gets little to no protection from the referees so if he loses his rag now and again or tries to con the odd penalty back for the ones he should be getting when teams take his head off then so be it.

The first time we touched the ball at HKR last week made me chuckle. It was a long punt down field and Sam took the ball in and was met by a couple of KR defenders. I think one of them was Ben Galea who decided to scrag him to the floor and throw his forearm into his face and then push his head into the ground and what does the ref do? Sod all as per usual.

They won't be doing that when Hock is back.

I promise you that.

Sam doesn't need a minder and thats whats so great about him and annoys oppositions teams and their fans so much. He'll stick up for himself and people don't like that. They expect him to just take all this stick and give nothing back.

Hock can concentrate on bedding back in for a while before he becomes our enforcer.

Sam gets hit high every week... yet him trying to win a penalty every now and again is like thee worst offence in the sport.

Like someone has said, since Abletts hit - Id rather see Sam annoy players by winning penalties etc after the referee offfering no help or protection then.. and ever since.

He laughs off every dig and high shot he gets.But gets his own back in his own way..and i love everytime he does it because you can feel the anger from fans and players.

Man of steel 2011? On yesterdays showing he's definitely got to be a strong contender. And with the amount of stick he takes he'd be a much more worthy winner than some past holders of the trophy. Man of steel should mean exactly what it says on the tin. Tomkins is as tough as tique and would be a worthy winner

This may be a scary thing for superleague tbh but i'd say the lad hasn't hit top gear yet. I thought Yesterday was as well as he's played this season but he's got plenty left in the tank.

Roby must be favourite at the moment with Rangi Chase a close 2nd but if anybody can get infront of those 2 it will be Sam.

Two players I'd love to see in a Wigan shirt, unlikely as it is.
