We beat them in the Grand Final and at Knowsley Road. Two things a Wire fan can only ever dream of. You finally beat them, big wow, it's about time you did. Last night was a cup final for Warrington or at least that's the impression they gave anyway.

Out of pure curiosity enlighten me on why it was a "cup final", aren't all local derby games played with intensity?
Look back at the Wire/Saints games of the past bar the result they have always been intense nail biting and brilliant games of rugby.

| Quote: ROBINSON "The way I look at it - if the only thing people can pick on with regards to Solomona is his weight, then it shows he's a good player.
I must admit noticed how fat he seems to have got. But then again I noticed he was doing the same amount of running about as everyone else and is exceptionally fit given his size.'"
Excellent post....
What's sad about this thread, with regards to the Wiganers slating Solomona's physique, is how many people seem to adhere to this boring idea that a rugby player should have a 'set' build.....Its this whole idea that has made our game so formulated and a little bit dull. The days of entertaining individuals are being slowly phased out at the expense of dull-as-dishwater, robot-like players who bring reliability, but little flair, to our game.
Just as an aside, what if a thread pops up on Sunday night on the Wire forum, with regards to Sam Tomkins scrawny physique??.....What if questions are asked about how such a weedy looking individual can dare to play our beautiful game??....I'm pretty sure, quite rightly, that many of you will jump to his defence.....

Your'e right they have, but youv'e always failed to win any of them apart from last night. My point was more towards the fact that we have beat them recently in two very important games. One being the Grand Final and the other being the last ever Saints v Wigan derby at Knowsley Road.
People pointing out that we couldn't beat them a fortnight ago is just laughable, first game of the season and not much pre season behind either team and throwing away a 16 point lead after defending to the intensity that Wigan did is hardly a "but you couldn't beat them" reason is it?

Trust me he does! Awesome player though, don't begrudge players enjoying themselves as long as theyre putting it in on the pitch

54062_1294991734.gif RLFans finest:
[quote="Saint77777":3t42372l]Maguire was a black mark on RL in this country. Whilst coaches like Daniel Anderson and Brian McLennan won championships on the back of exciting Rugby league, Maguire set out to win at all costs, evident by the way Danny Maguire was seriously injured and laughed at on the floor by the wigan players as he writhed in agony. Then there has been the constant bending back of limbs, trying to seriously maim the opposition. Even Phil Clarke has jumped on the bandwagon with his disgusting comments about the Danny Maguire incident.
I think its fitting that the 2 fairest teams in the comp, who have been on the receiving end of Wigans tactics should contest the Grand Final and make it a proper family day out instead of the knuckle dragging, salivating neanderthals from Wigan, that would pour into manchester on grand final day.
I for one cant wait to mingle with the Leeds fans and have a beer with them, rather than having to watch my arms and legs, should wigan have got there.[/quote:3t42372l]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_54062.gif |

| Solamona may not be the fittest bloke on the pitch however he is one of the best at what he does. And comparing him to Feka is ridiculous, they are completely different players.

seriously.......hes big, but good.......rugby players train hard, and play hard and need to eat hard.
back before training got as intense as today i was in the KFC in INCE. Martin Dermott walked in, (sat at the next table), he ordered THREE meals........ate them in 5 minutes flat........then went training ........and he wasnt fat

| It is posts like that which actually do this whole forum no good whatsoever......For the most part, this Solomona thread has been a good, light-hearted bit of banter.....However, idiots like Priestman just serve to stir up trouble with the nonsense they post.
I don't condone censorship, but certainly ridding this forum of morons like that, would make this place a whole more enjoyable.

12130.jpg As Emo Philips said "You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older. Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman: Stuff you pay good money for in later life.:12130.jpg |

| Lovely irony in the preseason friendly v Wigan when all the Wigan fans were chanting 'you fat b@stard' at him - you could clearly see from the away crowd with their XXXXXL pink and white tops that he probably weighs about in at about 50% lighter than most of them.
He isn't built like a modern RL forward but so what, he is a pleasure to watch play the game. I worry how we will replace the handling skills he brings to our side when he finishes.
