The reason St George are considering playing it over there has nothing to do with Wigan. They play the "Charity Shield" game every year against Souths and it is a huge money spinner for them, much more than the WCC would be. If they came over here to play the WCC they wouldn't have time to play that game given the way they structure "trial" games over there.

One of the best games of RL was Wigan beating Brisbane in aus to win the World Club challenge. Giving the Aussies a dicking in their own backyard. Great stuff.

The aussies don't usually want the wcc at home because the rugby leauge loving public over there don't consider it as a serious game more of a pre season friendly and they aren't confident they can make a game over there pay.

Latics home crowds this sason are around the 12000 mark not the 9500 suggested by the earlier poster who has probbably never seen them play at home,althought what the latics attndances have to do with the wcc god only knows,it will be a sunday game with a 6pm kick off
