| Quote Barrow's No2 Fan="Barrow's No2 Fan"Oh it does
Whether you like it or not Barrow will sell their allocation of tickets to as many bandwagon jumpers as possible - why, because maybe, just maybe a fair few of them will become life-long supporters.
It's seems to me a few folk on here need to have a reality check - just because you're SL and you may have 10,000 season ticket holders doesn't mean you're all entitled to a ticket - it's BARROW's home game!!!
I'm sure you'll get your allocation of tickets as determined by the RL rules on away supporters. You have been given an INITIAL allocation until the crowd limit has been finalised then the remaining allocation will be given to you.'"
first point...se above....ive conceded to the idea
rest of post........i think we already understand all that.

| Seriously why don't they just switch the venue then? The RFL could subsidise the cost of renting a bigger stadium for a one off which will probably be cheaper than giving all the Wigan’s season ticket holders free entry and Barrow can take a larger chunk of gate receipts home with them!
Let’s face it they are probably going out anyway so they might as well get as many fans possible in a bigger stadium and make the most of it.

and where do you suggest we switch the venue to - JJB Stadium
If a larger crowd was made up of Wigan season tickets holders getting in free then we wouldn't make any extra money out of it, in fact we could lose money as the 'paying' Barrow supporters might not travel.
On paper yes you should win but in our own ground with plenty of support who knows

Depends which way you look at it, Barrow wouldn't want to give up home advantage - especially in a small compact and i'd expect when it's full pretty hostile ground.

i dont think the majority of fans want a switch to the JJB.
barrow got home advantage, and most of us are willing to travel, if we get a ticket.

Tbf it's a point worth discussing. If your ground can't hold a significant enough number so a good section of the away fans say 3-4k can watch their team play then maybe you should be forced to switch venues? Not the JJB btw defo somewhere near or close to Barrow are there no larger stadiums in Cumbria?
At the end of the day we should make sure almost everyone who wants to watch the match has the opportunity 2 imo. It’s not football where there are endless amounts of fans on lists to get season tickets and you can see comprehensive highlights of all the games. Many fans spend an incredible amount of money each year in order to get to both home and away games and to simply cast them aside for ‘possible new fans’ knowing they will stay loyal is wrong imo.
Also the RFL wouldn’t set this initiative up if it wasn’t trying to increase CC attendances would it?

| I'm sure with the right game and offers on we could take that. Either way a lot of people aren't happy with the amount of tickets we have received.

Sorry but I don't understand what you mean by "the right game". We are going to Barrow, not KR. Alot of people may not be happy but they are jumping the gun (again).
I'll predict very few if any Wigan fans will miss the game.

Sorry when you said dream on i thought you meant we couldn't get an away following of 3-4k.
My original post was in regards to messing loyal fans around on the basis that some of the Barrow bandwagon jumpers may come to more games after that. The priority should always be your bread and butter support imo

We're not talking about a stadium that holds 500 here, we're talking about a capacity of 6,400.
I don't understand your problem. Barrow are AT HOME. The town is buzzing about 'the rugby' (we were promoted last season in case you didn't know) and the Wigan match has added to that 'buzz'. Widnes aside, we are one of the best supported clubs outside Super League. We are also one of the oldest clubs in the sport and have a very good Challenge Cup pedigree with 5 finals and umpteen semi's.
You suggest we move the game to a larger neutral venue in Cumbria, well the only one I know of is Carlisle which is 90-odd miles from Barrow.
Craven Park may be old and crumbling and no longer holds 22,000 (as it once did), but it is owned by Barrow RLFC and will remain so.
