I'd probably only really want Konrad Hurrell, Simon Mannering, Ben Matulino and Feleti Mateo from their current squad and they've mostly been poor this season. Matulino is a shadow of the player he was last season. Mateo can be a penalty machine one minute and a World beater the next (see Gareth Hock minus the off field stuff). Hurrell is a big lad but still quite raw in parts and Mannering is a work horse that you probably wouldn't shift Hansen or Farrell for considering the wage he'd demand.'"
I'd take Leuluai, Nielsen, Elijah Taylor and Shaun Johnson as well. |

Haven't seen enough of Nielsen yet but as a natural centre possibly.
Johnson, again possibly. A great talent but too hit and miss. I'm more than happy with Smith and Green at the moment. |

He does yes and when he's in space there are few that would catch him but I haven't seen it enough from him. In his defence, he's behind a beaten pack most weeks.
He has a good kicking game. |

A well known Wigan supporting Yorkshire pastry  journalist said to me a few weeks ago that he wouldn't swap Green and Smith for any other half back pairing currently playing in Superleague. |

One things for certain, I'd much sooner us do a player swap and gain several NRL players and Sam go to an NRL club than us sell him for cash to RU. Sure, if you take the cash in option you'll have a very healthy set of accounts but the trophy cabinet would look a bit bare. If NZW want to offer three players - Locke/Leuluai/and another - I'd definitely take that option and keep Sam in the game rather than losing him to another sport and having to find a replacement.

That's an interesting one I hadn't heard, a case of hometown club v career club. Could be some mileage in it as he has done very well with the Salford back line and I can see both clubs being interested.
