| Quote: Cruncher "It's possible that old St Helens big game hoodoo could kick in again, but I can't see it.
The amount of whining coming over the bump last year, when they were nowhere near as good as they are this year, would be drowned out massively if they were to reach two finals in 2019 and lose BOTH of them. It would be ridiculous by almost any standards, let alone for a team of such quality.
The other thing is, I have a concern that Salford are being a bit too cocky. A couple of Salford fans I know are really confident they are going to win. I'm not sure where this stems from, but I'm seeing it replicated on Twitter as well. If it's the same story in the Salford camp, they are in for a big wake-up call. Reminds me of us in '84, when just getting to Wembley was such an achievement that realism fled the scene. We rolled up at the Twin Towers in our noisy thousands, and were taught a savage lesson by a team who were treating it as an actual match rather than a carnival.'"
If Salford have any chance of winning they will have to withstand the early onslaught from Saints that is going to come at them. Saints will be very fresh and ready to go and will throw everything at them from the kick off in the hope of draining Salford so badly that they cant recover. It remains to be seen if Salford can withstand that early onslaught, i certainly cant see it but if they can get through it and force some Saints errors then you could see Saints start to panic out of fear of losing 2 finals. I just dont see it and i think Saints will win fairly easily.
As i said last week, im just glad its not us that are facing Saints tonight. At least we wont have the double gloating of them being champions and beating us in a final.

Not over at all. Whilst Saints may of started like a whirlwind, they didnt quite take enough out of Salford for my liking. If Salford can level the scores then i can see Saints falling apart

| At least we won’t have to put up with another toe curling letter from McAnus, saints were the better team but there were some very poor decisions by Kendall, the Dudson one was plain embarrassing

Nah, they had it wrapped up before Kendall lost his mind. They swarmed Salford in the second half. We've just got to admit that Saints were the best team and deserved the win. Their players look super conditioned compared to everybody else. Bigger, faster and more powerful.

| What a state the game is in though. That Saints team probably isn’t even in their top 5 SL sides yet walked the league.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

I’ll second that, the referee did Salford no favours whereas he did Saints plenty.

| I used to think I hated the days of Saints v Leeds every year.
What we’d do now, for 2 X-factor teams competing and putting on a spectacle worth watching.
Salford getting to the GF was lovely and everything but by heck we don’t half have a beige sport, do we.
I must admit, I flicked Strictly Come Dancing on after 60 mins such was the boredom in the front room of my house. Was the final 20 minutes anything other than a bit of blood & thunder?

Thoroughly enjoyed the game.
Couple of 50/50 calls had gone the other way then Salford could have taken it to the wire. Fully deserved title for Saints though.

| They try direct from the scrum was a superb move. One I've not seen before and executed superbly.

Reminded me of how we used to play in the early 90's. Why teams dont put on set moves like this more often ill never know.
