| Why is it only us that constantly lose players to both the NRL & RU, yes other teams lose the odd player now and again but for us it's an annoying trend.

In my opinion Wigan is now run as a business , you have got to balance the books by keeping a tight control on expenditure and income.
The days of Wigan speculating to accumulate are a thing of the past.

| We lose more players then everyone else for two reasons IMO-
1-We're run as a business and Lenagan has a philosophy of allowing players to spread their wings with the hope that they'll come back at some point. It makes the club money and they seem to keep strong relationships with players who leave.
2-We're a victim of our success from the late 80's and early 90's. It made people sit up and take notice and you can reel off umpteen ex players who now coach in Union. We're the most famous team in Oz also and the fact that we seem to actively leave ourselves open to players being picked off makes us a logical target.

I think you can add to that, we are coached and play the game in a style which is similar to the NRL therefore it could be considered that our players will adapt more easily.

| Quote: Wigan Peer "Sarginson was born down-under, can't say i blame him for going as he may have family out there, but i don't know. Josh tweets more about clothes, and to and about RU, so it's no surprise. Good luck to em both. Tho it's only just confirmed to us, no doubt the club will have know for sometime in Josh's case, and all were aware of Sarginsons intentions. Be interesting to see where we go from here, but then, it's always interesting to watch the comings and goings...'"
Sarg does down here in NZ. I often speak with his old man through work. Good bloke.

As for leaving Wakefield to build their own team - no thanks. All they do is leech off the rest of SL.'"
That doesn't even make sense, clearly you would be the ones "leeching" in this case. Grow up.
After Wanes treatment of Hampshire (a player you "leeched" from our develpment area) I think Carter wouldn't sell Wigan a stick of rock.

If Hampshire was so keen on staying at Wakefield why did he go to Hull first and then Wigan?

I never said he was keen to join us at any stage in his early career. However if you're going to use emotive terms like "leeching" then you better be ready to take some flak.
Hampshire as far as I'm aware has never been at Wakefield at any age group but I may be wrong, but he is a product of the Normanton Knights which is very much a Wakefield club. So although I'm realistic enough to accept that this is how it is, technically you leeched him from our grasp.
He did however fancy going to Wakefield on loan, but Thuggy Wane didn't think we were good enough - he may be right - but the offensive way he put it hardly endeared him to the Wakefield hierachy who I know would rather sell Johnstone to Cas or Leeds if they had to sell and for less rather than to Wigan after that kick in the teeth. Problem is Thuggy Wane keeps peeing folks off with his arrogant attitude and this one might come back to bite him.
That's all I'm saying.

No he didn't. It would have made no sense for his development as a player.

Rogues didn't use the word "leeching".... And is the term "Thuggy Wane" not emotive?

| Oh take no notice of them they are still in the dark ages over the hill. They frown upon us over here for having 10 toes and considering it strange.

Yes he did and yes it would.
He'd be the first choice stand off at Wakefield rather than sitting in the stands for 3 months at Cas.
He and his whole family are fanatical Wakefield supporters as well.
Vasty is pretty much on the button about how derogatory Wane was about Wakefield, now I know we're not currently the best but there's ways of doing things and Wane was out of order.
