Not at all. If you speak to AJ he will tell you i have said IL has done a very good job of the business side of things.
I can only assume you refer to me spitting my dummy out as being when i present people with a fact eg. the reason Sean Long did not sign for us.

| Could it be that IL chose to NOT tell Long who the coach was going to be, as with Longs record it could have been on the back page of the newspapers the next day?

| Quote: Wigan Peer "Cruncher, leave them too it. They are so tedious its untrue. makes me wonder why, ifthey are so knowledgeable, about all things RL, why they are not in contention for the job. the answer is simple. they know nothing and think they know all, and god forbid that you should have an opinion that is not inline with their vitriol....
Facts.
1. We are in a far better position than we were when the previous owner left.
2. We have a stated intention to push young local talent.
3. We HAVE young local talent which is getting it's chance to shine.
4. We need that talent as the rules change.
My opinion.
BN has done a great job in stabilising the club, WHICH WAS ABSOLUTLY ESSENTIAL. However, i have not liked the lack of invention we have shown, much of which should be put down to recruitment, which is affected by SC considerations. We do not know the ins and outs about that, most is just supposition. We should thank BN for what he has done, we were damn close on Saturday, and its a long time since we went into a derby game feeling so confidant. As has been stated. the king is dead, long live the king.
We are Wigan, and we will be back where we belong. And don't think for one minuite that the rest of RL is not watching us and nervous of what is happening here...'"
Couldn't have put it better myself (and that's saying something ).
You're right on all counts, as much about BN as IL. It's truly a pity that the rantings of micro-intellects can cause us to polarise our views so much.
I've got a good feeling this week, especially after reading morning's papers, and try as I may, I just can't get outraged about what was or wasn't said to Sean Long. The only thing that could really spoil the party now is if the new coach isn't who we hope it's going to be.

| Quote: Pemps "I too don't think it was handled in the best possible way. But I'm in no way convinced that Noble only found out last week. I, like a few on here, was told this a couple of months ago.
One of the reasons that it perhaps wasn't public knowledge was due to the fact that we weren't 100% sure that the guy coming could get a visa. If it was announced that Noble was leaving and no one was ready to take the step up, it would have made us look unprofessional. If we then said we're after Maguire but we're waiting for a visa, visa denied and Wane gets the job. Everyone knows that Wane isn't IL's first choice and he won't have everyone's backing.'"
I think what we had was a novel situation. When was the last time a coach at any club who wasn't going to get a new deal saw his contract out?
I don't mean like Anderson at Saints or Lowe or Monie here who were leaving because they wanted to and it was all very positive with fans sad to see them go. I mean when was the last time a coach who the chairman did not want next year saw his contract out?
What usually happens is the coach gets sacked before the end of his contract (or if he is lucky made director of football like Powell at Leeds was) so Noble staying on to the bitter end was a new one on me and I think it makes an important difference to how things should be handled.
I also don't think not having the new coach signed up at the time the club could have announced Noble was leaving at the end of the season would have looked unprofessional. I think saying nothing as happened did look unprofessional. It makes it look as if they are peddling the job around and if they found no takers they will offer the existing coach the job anyway.
They didn't need to announce the new coach at the time they could have said Noble was off IMO so the failing to get McQuire and then giving it to Wane scenario need not have materialized. Mind you we may yet find ourselves in that situation if the BBC reports are to be believed it isn't all done and dusted with McQuire.
Quote: Pemps "It's a tricky situation to manage and one that I'm ultimately not too bothered about as long as the outcome is we get a coach who's ready to take us to some finals.'"
I get the impression the "neutrals" don't think this has been handled any better than Mo sacking another coach. It's a bit ironic letting a coach see his contract out turns out to be as controversial as sacking one!

Rantings?
The only person that is ranting is you and the IL happy clappers whenever anybody questions his actions.
Micro-Intellects?
It seems you think this about anybody that does not share your view on something. Only yesterday you called somebody else a prat just because they posted something you didnt agree on.
Your very good at giving but my God you cannot take anybody else having an opinion or view.

The clash was bad, we were watching the team in blue versus the team in slightly darker blue.

Could have been worse. I could have called him "a sly, obnoxious little to55er!" Oh, and a liar.

| One of the members of the coaching staff went to Milton Keynes to meet Lenegan to discuss his future a while back. He came out of the meeting none the wiser, "with four different heads on" were his words...
Am I staying here with Brian next season?
If Brian goes, do you still want me?
Is Brian staying and I'm a goner?
etc...
Maybe Lenegan has form for keeping his employees guessing!
Whatever has gone on, Im 100% sure IL has acted in THE BEST INTERESTS OF WIGAN RL in what has been a unique and difficult situation.
