We will if he misses a kick and we lose 23-22

It's like some people would be disappointed if he doesn't fail. Cos being right on an internet board is the most important thing, right?
Will I will support him when he dons a Wigan shirt, Yes I will. Am I happy about us signing him, no I am not.
It’s like losing a fiver and finding a £1

| He's not my first choice by a long way but let's see how he goes and if he's rubbish then i'll be the first one with the pitch fork and burning torch.
Someone made the point earlier that if you keep signing championship players that's where you are likely to end up. That's true but I think we have enough quality for that not to be a problem.

I never understand posts like this.
Everyone wants the lad to smash it in a Wigan shirt. I hope he wins man of steel and goes down as a club legend. I hope in threads like a few currently active on this board we talk about him as one of our greatest ever halfbacks in a Super League era.
However as 01/12/18 he is a thoroughly underwhelming signing when we have a marquee spot free and our rivals have strengthened better than us. Not to mention the links to Johnson and Widdop. Fans would like a big name signing, We haven't had one since 2011. That's just sport.
Are you genuinely filled with any excitement to see a 31 year old championship halfback who was bang average to poor in Super League as you were when we signed Trent Barrett or Adrian Lam? Does it make you want to part with your cash to see him play RL?
I hope he is incredible for us. I really do. The evidence doesn't suggest he will be. Save this thread and let's hope we can both cry with laughter at how wrong we were to be underwhelmed and how brilliant he has been for us.

The very same. If you care to read the posts from around that time you'll see they were predominantly negative. I'm most certainly not comparing the two but, similarly, am hoping that the combined wisdom of the Internet has once again got it wrong.
Either way, we'll soon find out.

Paul Deacon who played the majority of his career behind a huge pack of forwards and often played in a dinner jacket given Bradford’s dominance up front, not to mention the quality of the backs he played with.
Has Sammutt ever had that kind of luxury?

You've seen the finances then?

Attendances are also down quite substantially - that's our biggest revenue source.
We clearly can't keep asking Lenagan to put his hand in his pocket - either he doesn't have the money anymore, or he's lost the will to do so.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| Lets try to be positive guys. At least he cant be any worse then Denis Moran...... or can he??
My God, i never thought id see the day when Wigan signed Jam Butty to direct operations in the middle.
Id put this on par with the signing of Gavin Clinch.

| I've always liked watching Sammut play but something has to be amiss with him if hasn't consistently played in Super league.
He had a blinder when I watched him play for Workington against Swinton a couple of seasons ago
Sydney Roosters will be shi itting themselves !!

2002 Top try scorer in SL with 22 for the 8th placed side
2003 Top try scorer in SL with 24 for the 5th placed side
2004 6th top try scorer in with 19 for the 10th placed side
77 tries in 105 appearances in an average London side is pretty bloody good.
In 2005 he was the top try scorer at Wigan.....he does seem to be used as a scapegoat for a couple of seasons where you were a mid-table side and in 2006 he had his "wings clipped" by the coach and the result was dire....not his fault though!
Sammut is mercurial.....coach him well and he'll do fine, but if he sulks, you've just wasted a wage and a quota spot!

Think Lenegan has not so much lost the will but is shaping the club for the future,I don’t see his family in love with the sport as much as he is,and he is to be fair, the days of him propping the club are at an end it seems
