They wouldnt be in a top 5 though, which is what it should be.

They need to do something to spark interest, too...5.5k is embarrassing, even for Huddersfield.

| I'd expect Leeds and Saints to get stuck into each other tomorrow night. I think Warrington will go for the winner of that one.
Wigan v Huddersfield + Warrington v Saints for me. I wouldn't mind Wigan v Saints though. Genuinely think they'll beat Leeds tomorrow.

I still see Warrington picking the side that has had the hardest game this week, which will not be Huddersfield.'"
... and a team with a shorter turnaround for a Thursday game. Wigan v Huddersfield is for definate.

It's ok then!
It's not just a Huddersfield issue and you only need to look at the score to see the problems we've got but that's a shocking crowd at £10 a go.
I'd suggest enjoying any success why you can because it simply won't be sustainable on your crowds. Once Ken Davy leaves the club things could go rapidly down hill unless another big money backer can be found.

You brought 1400 last week at ours, also at £10 a ticket, so hardly worth bragging about.
Thursday night again and I know a lot of regulars who could not make the game as they work nights and had to call in favours and swaps to get there last week, also looks like we will be playing Thursday next week as I think Wire will chose us, as they want to avoid Leeds, who I expect will beat Saints tonight.

| Fans of team x getting on the backs of fans of team y about playoff attendances is pointless. They're shocking across the board, they have been for a number of seasons and very little has been done to improve it.
I think the best way is to increase ST prices a little and include PO and a couple of early rounds of the CC with it. Some seasons you'll get more value than others, but at least there would be people in the ground actually watching what should be the most important games of the season. Dunno how prize money would be worked out though, and I think this is the main reason why it hasn't changed since we've had a top 8, despite the poor numbers turning up.

Which is considerably more than you usually bring to Wigan or anywhere else for that matter.
Playoff crowds are poor for a number of reasons with the main one imho being the financial climate we currently live in.

The stand you were in was mainly made up of Wigan supporters with cheap tickets. Once they'd done the Wigan walk and left the stand with pretty much just Huddersfield fans I'd have a guess you'd brought about 7-800.
Better then usual but still a massive way short of what you'd expect a club chasing top spot to bring.
No point arguing about play off crowds though. Every clubs are poor but yours are by far the worst considering the prices you charge. That isn't having a pop but a simple fact.

| If Wire pick Leeds they're mad.
They know how to win knock out games. They get more then a fare share of luck but above all they're just the best side about for keeping their nerve and not panicking.

ALL WIGAN SUPPORTERS MUST
1. Wigan must not win a hard fought struggle in appalling conditions, nilling the opposition and scoring 16 points, because that makes for the worst CC Final of all time.
2. Wigan must not get to the final by nilling the opposition and scoring 70 points with a display of attacking rugby because that makes for the worst CC Semi Final of all time.
3. Wigan players must not consider winning the game but devote all their efforts to entertaining neutral fans. Just like all the other teams do...
4. Wigan fans must not mention winning the CC Final, as that is arrogant.
5. Wigan fans must not mention winning the Challenge Cup 19 times, or indeed any other Trophies, as that is very arrogant indeed.
6. Wigan fans must not attend actual games. It is now compulsory to stay at home, watch on TV and moan about how low attendances at games are.: |
|
| If we do not play Huddersfield on Friday, whoever at Warrington had the final say on selecting Huddersfield need their head examining.

Leeds are lowest ranked though, and to not pick the lowest ranked simply sends out too many vibes.
The only way they can do it is if they select huddersfield without it being seen to be a conscious choice. For example some form of double sided coin
It's nailed on they'll select leeds. Leeds are lower ranked, they thrashed them last week and they'll see leeds as battered and bruised after last night.

Admittedly, Leeds have a very good play off record, but as for recent Wire/Leeds knock out games, Wire have destroyed Leeds in 2 games, while Leeds have sneaked past Wire in 2?
Personally, I'd take Leeds next week, purely because the will be easier to beat at our place than at Old Trafford... However, if we are at our best, we will beat them wherever because, and I know this sounds arrogant, I believe we are simply a better side than them - The only side I fear can match us at our best is yourselves. The game at the HJ this year was the best game of the season by a long way, played by 2 very good sides and you were lacking a few players - I think a Wire/Wigan final played at something close to that level would be a worthy final.
