Think I mentioned this when the discussion about Josh hogson was taking place a couple of months ago.

Sam Powell is an NRL hooker all over.

We’ve been through an era of scooter hookers in this country and that’s made fans over here look at a guy like Powell and think his game is lacking but it really isn’t. He plays 80 mins, his work rate is unbelievable, he’s a leader and sets an example and he’s improved massively with the ball this last two seasons. There’s not many hookers in superleague I’d swap him for all things considered.

Thank the lord he never left due to all the NRL offers

The boy is class . Hooker is his position and now that he is guaranteed that position he will go on to bigger and better things .

Remind when he played 50 minutes a game on average in his last 3 years?

I was a fan but later on in his career he played basically buggerall minutes per game

I know we do not see eye to eye on some things, but I agree 100% with what you have said about Powell who does not deserve the constant swiping at him by some supporters.

Was that not a Waney tactic to keep the middles as fresh as possible? Even guys like FPN only did 20min stints but in the NRL he was 40/50min.

Btw MM played 70mins against Wakey on Saturday, subbed only in the 70th minute.
