| I think they're moaning because they're terrified we have all this quality at the minute. Mickey mac has always been a decent, safe hooker with little glimmers of greatness and those glimmers seem to be becoming more frequent and I think he's gonna become true quality that kick through on Sundays was one of the best I've seen at wigan in a while and I'm surprised it didn't result in a try.

| It's nothing new to see idiots from other clubs making comments that could come back to haunt them. It isn't even just the fans.
I still remember a certain Humberside coach saying that the only difference between the incredible Wigan team of 1986/87 and everyone else in the league was Ellery Hanley. Oh, and the 12 clear league points that Wigan finished by come the end of that season. Strangely enough, when that happened he was unavailable for a quote.

| On form this year Charnley and Hall would be first pick wingers for England. The good thing is that Hall can play both wings just as well, which enables McNamara to make that choice.

Speaking of Riddell, he has just signed for my nephews team The Oaks which plays in the Group 6 country league.

Give him our regards from all Wigan fans. We missed him last year. He and Finch together could have provided a lot of "fun" at the club.

| McIlorum's come on in leaps and bounds this season. His inclusion is fully justified.
Charnley's a lethal finisher - why wouldn't he be included?

| Quote: dubairl "any one else notice how the other boards on here are giving them a real slating for nothing just because they have been included in the training camp?
ok MAYBE and a big maybe micky mac, but he has the potential and is now starting to fully show. I read one post what said luke robinson is better than him at hooker nearly choked on my glass of water when i read it, he had one good game down under and all of a sudden he is a class player? Not many hookers can say they outperformed roby and cunningham at old trafford!
well charnley is the inform winger in superleague right now and only ryan hall looks as good. i can see charnley being the new sam tomkins villian to other fans because of how good he is and they dont want him to be so they will make up stories and myths about him, example of this is on the warrington board one poster said he is so cocky just because he did a little jiggy when he scored. on the leeds board one poster actually said he never helps the forwards out when coming off are line is he or she for real? At this moment in time josh is better than briscoe in every department as he is playing well below par.
only choice people seem to agree with and rightly so is mossop and tomkins.
any one else thoughts on this? i think people need to understand that wigan have more than two qaulity english players. and its the same for warrington in my opinion some of there player such as myler should get a shot he has improved and it shows that people are saying players from the two dominant sides in the league aren't good enough for england.'"
I agree mate. Charnley is on fire and will get better and better imo. Mcilorum is the most improved player in the whole league so far imo, i dunno what Wane has said to him but it has worked. He looks a new man this season, he seems to be playing with freedom.
Lets be honest most of it is down to the fact they play for Wigan and people seem to think its good to criticise everything Wigan. We all know how good our up and coming players are and if other teams fans find that out the hard way before admitting it thats fine by me

| I wonder if someone made Mickey read these boards before the start of the season?? Would certainly light a fire under my butt if I saw everybody writing me off like a lot of us have.

it is a shame really, Charnley and Ah Van on the wings would have been immense for England

| It's just jealousy, I was gobsmacked that Charnley didn't make it into england squad for last years 4 nations, the kid is awesome.

| My team for England Elite (not including Players over in Aus e.g. graham, ellis):
1) Sam Tomkins
2) Ryan Hall
3) Ryan Atkins
4) Leroy Cudjoe
5) Josh Charnley
6) Rangi Chase
7) Danny Brough
Eorl Crabtree
9) James Roby
10) Andy Lynch - can't believe he's never in squad - so i'd play Lee Mossop
11) John Wilkin
12) Ben Westwood
13) Sean O'laughlin
14) Mickey Mcllorum (Danny Houghton should be first team IMO)
15) Gareth Hock
16) Paul Wood
17) Kevin Sinfield

| Ignore the negativity, just look at Englands prospects... its looking promising, the kids coming through now arent just good players but they have the will to win to compliment it. To beat the Ozzies requires 80 mins of solid concentration, thats an area of uncertainty with these players, remember Sam leaving a bomb or 2 in the 4 nations? Mistakes will happen, but if these lot learn quickly we have a chance to win. The likes of Long & Pryce and the big Braford boys had a lot of chances but in the end they were useless. The kids coming through now have a bit more to them, a bit more honesty in a world were wendyballers get paid £250k a week.

| What do you expect? It is RLFans after all. If you're expecting even-handed, logical debate about rugby league, you'd be better off ringing Stevo than looking on here

| I'd play Henderson above McIlorum. Said when he was at Bradford and we were still GB that we should ask im to play (seeing as he was playing in a nothing tournament for Scotland and is actually English). Cracking player, and I think the frogs lost their way a little when he went off on Sunday.

| I love what Charnley brings to the table. The lad backs himself and has great confidence. I still feel that Briscoe and Hall will be first choice though. Mainly down to their all round game. I still don't get it with McIlorum, I think you need more from the hooker position nowadays. I can't see him dominating a game ala Monaghan and Roby. Still, great to see club's like Wigan giving young, british talent a go.
