Should have had a neutral ref. Thierry Alibert is neutral and is better than any ref in this years 4 nations.

Absolutely disgusting why??? Who makes the decisions in any type of test match the ref should always be neutral like the above mentioned why not give Thierry Alibert a go ??

As long as International RL is refereed by none-neutral refs out sport will continue to be laughed at.
It really is terrible.

That's my major concern. I know the ref won't be bias towards them as he's a professional but it looks ridiculous to the watching world.

It makes no sense at all when we now have a kiwi ref in the NRL and a French ref in superleague. When we didn't have those a few years back and we had to pick them from semi pro comps this sort of move was understandable but not now.

It's not ideal, but definitely wouldnt want Perenara (sp?) again, and Alibert always bottles big games plus he isnt even down for this tournament. We are then left with Bentham or Cecchin. Cecchin has probably been the best ref of the tournament, fair enough he didnt take action against Smith or Luke on Saturday but recently most refs in both competitions have been guilty of not taking forceful enough action disciplinary wise. You never know he might give most of the 50/50s our way so he isnt accused of bias, and Bentham could have done visa versa.

Baffles me that Froggy never got much credit for a sterling performance in the WCC IMO.
He should've been reffing in this comp

Cecchin is an absolute joke. He knew what happened in the two major flashpoints on Saturday yet he still only put them on report.

It should be a neutral ref end of story.

and thats before you get onto the point that he doesnt even understand the standing square rule. Its about time they brought in rules that state a game must be reffed by a neutral. All other sports manage this.

Bentham misses elbow to lockyer chin plus numerous high tackles in Aus, Perenara misses Williams high shot on Westwood and Cecchin misses 2 last week so take your pick all seem to cop out to me, as all went on report!
As for not stood square please what ref pulls that up all the time? we would have a penalty every plb.
Penenara is not a NRL ref he is a touchie, refs in NSW cup (Third tier).
Ailbert for me is one of the worst in SL just seems to makes things up, as in this years WCC!!!

Difference is Cecchin didnt miss them, he knew what happened and chose not to take any action other than on report. He said as much on the mic "Isaac you intentionally twisted the leg trying to injure the player. On report" Then on the elbow "Elbow to the head while he was on the ground. On report"

The RFL once again give in to make the ARL happy not suprised one bit but if any ref out of the 3 should of got it then it was Bentham he has had a season of reffing on his own and is used to that system Cecchin is used to the 2 ref system and at times to me has been out of position. All 3 refs have bottled big decisions but we dont know how much of that is down to how they have been told to handle the games either way should just give England a bit more motivation to win

Just shows what state our Officials are, Bentham or an Aussie bottler.
