27588.gif "Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif |

| No Rob Burrow? I'd of thought after the way hes torn the top 3 sides apart this year he'd at least be in the squad

Slight rib injury? The first games only the 29th? Sure he'd be fine by then

| Awful. The entire 4 Nations is looking weak given the amount of injuries.

I reckon both Charnley and Mossop should be in the squad, Charnley is better than briscoe and Mossop been one of the best forwards in super league this year. Any thoughts?

| IMO - Charnley is not better than Briscoe. And Mossop maybe would've been worth a bench spot (possibly over Morley who I feel has had his day).

Charnley may have had a chance but I think it's probably a little too early for him to make the international side. As for Mossop, he's been immense this year. He's better than TMPMISL that's for sure. At least Mossop doesn't go hiding when the going gets tough. Plus, who is Bailey going to square up to when he realises the Aussie and Kiwi outside backs are as big as forwards?

Agree. Charnley is still a bit of raw potential imo but his time will come. Mossop probably isnt in due to the injuries he has been having but I feel his time will come too.
Its probably a blessing with the squad that has been picked, we could be in for a real good hiding.

| Really poor squad IMO but didn't really expect much else international RL is pretty much a two country game & i'll be at Elland Road to watch those two teams in the final.

If Mossop isn't in the main squad because of his injuries, then why is he in the knights?
I fail to see how Ryan Bailey is rated better. And that's not just because he's a tool, it's because he's a very average player.

| I hope we get battered by the Aussies and Kiwis, and I mean battered, and then humiliated by the Welsh.
Anything other than an utterly miserable 4th place with 0 wins for 3 games will force the powers that be to wake up and alter things.

| McNamara as expected makes a shambles of what could have been a decent squad.
Cudjoe over Atkins- How?
McIlorum over Robinson/Burrow/Houghton- How?
No Mossop yet places for deadwood like JJB and Wilkin (I'd have picked Bailey tbh. He's a rubbish player but world class wind up merchant).
No Brough so we've got 3 running halfbacks and no organiser
Sinfield chosen- He's pitiful at international level in any other position then 9. He isn't up to it physically ( his amazing superleague record hasn't counted for much in his numerous chances in the past).
Awful stuff overall. The only way we could choose guys like Chase and Heighington was to pick them alongside the new breed. We needed to make a statement of intent that we were doing away with the deadwood and entering a new era. As it is we're basically blocking young players routes on to the first team with players that have tried and failed and imports.
It's consistent though so I'll give them that. It mirrors superleague.
What a depressing day.

| i know we love to hate everything st helens, but those mocking the inclusion of Jon Wilkin need to have their head examined. After Ben Westwood, i'd say he's the form English 2nd rower in the league

| England now don't have any right centres, we lost them both with Shenton's injury and Joel backing out.
Widdop at 6 instead of Chase.
After all a 6 playing at Melbourne will be better than one playing 6 for Cas.
I suppose really though, that means Chase will start!
Ablett an International? Shows how far we've sunk!
