Yeah, apart from that. I see no problems.

| The impression I got is that the flags might physically remain in place, but if you hit the flag whilst diving for a try you're still considered to be in the field of play, a little like how it operates in football. Could be wrong, mind.

| That's my understanding of it too Matt.
But for me, they need to stop fannying about with the little things like this.
There's nothing wrong with a defender being able to slam you in to the posts to stop you scoring IMO.

Would make for a better spectacle if defenders were able to pull them out of the ground and beat the opposition with them though! Think I've just invented a whole new sport...Ultimate Rugby!

It's an object outside of play, if you touch it then you're out of play. I never really saw a point in them though, they're a bitch to get in the ground too when it's hard. In fact I like this because we'll probably see more crazy diving tries in the corner. Having said that, do we really need to make it even easier for wingers to score tries?

| There's nothing wrong with the corner flag rule. Why can't they just leave things alone.

Sadly, it appears that the RFLs approach is "If it ain't broke, break it."

One positive thing to do next could be to adopt the American football type posts with a single post behind the dead ball line.
If we'd had them we'd still have Amos playing

Perhaps we could remove the crowd too. I've seen players overshoot the pitch when running fast and fall over that unneccessary seating area...

| Anywhere else on the side line they can play it while in the air, so as long as their feet are off the ground, even if the ball is out of play, it can be kept alive. It seems bizarre that a try could be chalked off if the flag is touched during the action of touching down whilst in mid-air.

I must be getting old but it's already been done, in the 70's, i think by New Hunslet as they were then called. I believe the posts got banned as they didn't conform to the RFL specifications.
