If they watch it themselves it will be interesting to see which ones turn up

| I was already excited for the new season as soon as I heard that we were getting Maguire.
After watching SW's interview, I just want them to arrange a pre-season friendly for this weekend.
I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!
Sounds to me like he's going to use the UFC type of training:
Rather than working at a reasonable pace and saving all the real effort for the match, their top guys work on the principle that if you take an absolute beasting EVERY time you train (i.e. you train almost to exhaustion), then anything that you face in the fight (i.e. Match Day) MUST be easier than training.
If they do that in pre-season, and then perhaps 1 or 2 days in each week (maybe hard training Monday/Tuesday, then gradually saving more energy each day up to match-day), then we should see a much fitter and more determined set of players next year.
It seems like they both (MM & SW) have firm ideas for how they can flog the players in to shape and get the best from them.
BRING IT ON !!!

| Shaun Wane fills me with enthusiasm for the 2010 season. He looks really pumped up for it already and if he can put that into the players then we may see that extra 10% or so from them, particularly the front row.

The majority of the reserves and academy lads will be chuffed to bits. They hold Wane in very high esteem, basically because he tells them like it is, no bull.
Maybe he's not the most technically gifted coach, (he'll learn a lot from Maguire) but he's so passionate about Rugby League in general and Wigan in particular.
Oh and he HATES Saints with a passion.
Good luck big man.

| For me Wane will bring back to us what has been missing since Farrell left. Someone who will put fear into the player to perform well. The respect the players will have for him will be massive, especially the ones who've played under him in the reserves. I can only see players like the Tomkins brothers, O'Loughlin, Ainscough, Prescott, McIlorum, Goulding, Hansen and Mossop getting even better, and with him, players like Fielden, Coley, Riddell, Feka etc wont be able to afford to have bad days because Wane knows we have the talent in the reserves who can easilly replace them. Cant wait

| Is it me or is he saying exactly what 90% of the people on his board have been saying.
His passion, love for the club and determination to succeed is there for everyone to see.
He’ll provide excellent cover and give that something extra to what Maguire does.

| I'm wondering whether with Wane in charge we'll see some of the youngsters get a game or two next year, someone such as Thornley getting a game in place of Carmont so that George is able to have a rest while letting Thornley feel what it's like to step up to that next level, plus it'll let the coaching staff see what needs to be improved in his game similar to what Leeds have done with Watkins.
Even someone such as Mellor may benefit from getting a spot on the bench for a week, even if it's only one game he get's it'll be better than none at all.

| Interesting that SW says the players are 'glad it's happened', really do get the feeling we're going to see better performances next season.

| Have to admit i liked what i heard!!
Thought it was quite telling the long pause Wane made before answering the question about 'the lack of passion about the joint...'

Two very interesting bit's of that interview which I had forgotten about but are certainly very telling when heard.
