my original sarcastic comment whooshed big time (my fault) Myler made 5 tackles in a row from marker, his defence was excellent, throughout the game made some great tackles

Here's me thinking halfabcks were supposed to create and score tries.

What like the inside ball that Sam gave for the Tuson try ?..
Myler isnt even close to being as good as Sam which will be proven big time over the next decare. Mylers a suport player although he is good at it.

His defence is dodgy though when he is defending out wide and has to make one on one tackles against centres and second rows. We were just never really in a position to exploit that.

One pass in the entire game. Great contribution, that try was only scored due to our awful attempt to tackle Tuson. Hardly game breaking or changing. I refer back to your "Myler is a support player" argument" his 10 try assists in 15 games seem to make that statement look silly.

| Tomkins is a great young half back who would improve if he got his temper under control a bit more. Myler is a great young half back who would improve if he allowed his temper to fire him up a bit more.

I wont try and say ive seen enough of Myler this year but from what i have hes not up to the standards of Tomkins or Eastmond. Its all well and good stating stats but whose to say he didnt get the ball from supporting a half break and then gained the assist from drawing the fullback ? Stats are good to a certain extent especially for metres and tackles made but for other things they dont always tell the full story.

| As a Warrington supporter I hate Sam - so he must be good But to say Myler is not upto that standard is ridiculous. Myler has an exceptionally mature approach to the game. He reads the game well, tackles his fair share and with good technique. He does not need to show more 'temper' as his enthusiasm for the game is indicated in his clapping to the crowd as he walks back, his try celebrations and his 80 minutes consistency. He controls his 'temper' because he knows how too. Tomkins I am sure will learn this too eventually - the sooner he does the better for him and his game.
It is very easy to call Myler a 'support player' as he scored/nearly scored so many times on Friday but you are underestimating the control Briers has on the game. It is difficult for a team to have 2 half back chiefs. Myler, for the time being is learning his trade from a master but can turn it up when the space allows. His explosive pace on the line coupled with his ability to understand his players around him make him a very good support player, but he has way more strings to his bow.

As a final point his celebrations in front of the Wigan fans at the HJ would indicate he still has a lot of growing up to do.

| Myler, STomkins, Eastmond. I'd have any 3 in my team
Eastmond is a great kicker and brilliant at breaking the line, his strength speed and low centre of gravity make him a handy player
Tomkins (i'll get a canned for this) is actually similar to Briers, a maverick, but his strength compared to Briers is his running and sidestep whereas Briers kicking is exceptional. Like Briers he can be anonymous one game and phenomenal the next
Myler, now i don't profess to know the game real in depth but he is actually more dangerous than any player in the league without the ball and his game is about being practically telepathic, he reads his teamates, he knows when and where to be on the pitch.
Scissors, paper, stone.
For England i'd play all 3 at the same time
Tomkins and Eastmond capable of playing Fullback, eastmond centre too.
Our pack is dominant, i really think England are probably only 2 or 3 three players short of beating the Aussies and lets not forget a decent coach too

He has the odd average game where he'll make a try and score one but the rest of the time he is man of the match or pretty close Briers raises his game against certain teams and gets himself hyped up speaking to the papers and the like but then does nothing in certain games. This can't be said about Sam. When he has played for England he has not been afraid to direct the more experienced players around the pitch this was particularly noticeable in last years match against New Zealand when he'd only had about half a season of first team experience.

| I'm pretty sure Sam already has more Test caps than Briers.

| Normally i'm happy to just read the debates without contributing but have got rather sick of the cheap nasty jibes aimed at Warrington and our fans on these board by you Wiganers.
What exactly is the problem with us? Are you bitter because we've had the challenge cup on the sideboard and have a great chance to retain it while you lot are getting all giddy because your virtually guaranteed the hubcap? Or is it because we stuffed you infront of your passionless fans just the other week? Possibly your angry at 8 long years without a trophy?
We are the 2nd biggest club in SL (yes your first), a club very much on the up and with the best support in SL so reading this constant Wire-bashing is getting tedious, have a bit of respect for the progress we have made under Tony Smith.
Remember we have a chance of the double, you don't.
The play-offs are just around the corner,be afraid,be VERY afraid.
