23 - 20 - 4 Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png

Quote: Roddy B "I have 5k+ posts on here pal, not everything is posted on here because it annoys me. This is a good example, it never annoyed me, it made me laugh, as I've witnessed proper football fans do the chants and create the atmosphere, your lot make a mockery of it.

And what does it have to do with me? Not too much, but when the only straw Wigan fans seem to be clutching at is their 'wowzers' support at a game, I can't let that happen. They simply shouldn't have anything to clutch at.'"

You have lost me there. Our support at a game is the only straw Wigan fans have to clutch at?

Yes because no other teams fans do!!!

By time I had got to Tesco there was a bloke in Wire shirt and scarf and the checkout with a shopping trolley full of bagged up shopping so either he ran round tesco or left early!!

I was at the game as a neutral, and thought the atmosphere was pretty good from both sets. Was expecting to see the wigan walk but instead you just got noisier, fair play. As a neutral really hope the final is between you two

There are very very few songs which are original these days, and who gives a frig whether another club had sung it first.

I like hearing fans get behind their teams, no matter what they sing or chant.

It's just something for someone to troll over and pick at. It's purely for the purpose of winding up opposition fans. I really don't know why people respond to it.

The Wigan Ultras get a bad rap on here, but I'm gonna go against the grain and say they've improved their support massively. I'm not really bothered what they call themselves as Ultras is a common name for all sorts of organised football groups across Europe, and the likes of Accrington Stanley and York City have done it here. They're not patricularly original either, as most of their songs seemed to be reworded Liverpool or Man United songs (which has also influenced their flag designs) and Dale Cavese is as generic as it gets in Europe - although I do like it.

The fact is though, they are loud and they don't go anywhere.

Let's be honest, once the result was beyond doubt yesterday what we all wanted to see and hear was "the Wigan walk" and silence from their end, so we could all wave them goodbye and sing about being top of the league.

What we actually saw and heard was a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that completely drowned out anything we could muster, leaving us to resort to a childish "you're sh*t" at the brief quiet moments of the tune. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs/chants, because as soon as "We are top of the league" got going by us it died out seconds later when everyone accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot and went back to "you're sh*t". No point even bothering with "We're gonna win the league", or "We shall not be moved" after that.

Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. If they're honest with themselves (although I'm sure they won't be and will slag me off for this post) I think most fans of other clubs who slag them off and just jealous that their own club's support is nowhere near that good.

Not fishing with any of that either.

I agree with most of dropkick murphy's post, although not the impact it had on the Wire fans. I thought it was an awesome atmosphere around the whole ground.

Me and my mate just stood there and said "What are we doing wrong" They knew that we had committed no offence and they couldn't do anything. He looked a bit embarrassed when I told him that.

Too right, we proved that on sunday without doubt.

NO OTHER set of fans would have done what we did losing by so many points to one of our rivals.

Where did he post that?

Finally some actual truth being spoken about us rather than just negativity. There is no denying we have improved the support.

We certainly outsang the wire fans despite losing and their response was VERY poor. Many Wire fans just don't want to admit it. Some of them have though.

The jealousy thing is huge. Who wouldn't want to see a group of their own fans showing the colours of their team and improving the atmosphere? Had the south stand been a sea of primrose and blue on sunday with a group of fans getting the south stand bouncing... would they have been complaining and giving them stick for being hooligans? I don't think so.

Massive credit to him for that post, but where is it?
