So all Wiganers are like that, are they? Despite the evidence suggesting otherwise on this very thread. You sad prat.

| Quote Katrina="Katrina"Is the allocation for each team that reaches the final still 10,000 or has it gone up to more?'"
According to the RL press, it's still 10,000 per club. At the rate Wire seem to be buying theirs, though, I figure they'll have all gone by about tomorrow lunchtime! So long as they know they can buy direct from the RFL as well then they'll be fine, I'm sure.
It's really weird supporting the club whose exit has caused so much universal agreement and excitement, simply because we were too damn successful at it for a while there. Oh well.

Sold 9000 by teatime today, and with the shop open until 10pm, expect 11 - 12 000 gone today.
A Challenge Cup Record we believe!

We have sold over 9000 tickets today with the train and 28 coaches fully booked already and that is only to season ticket holders before they go on general release - we should be able to sell plenty more this week which is positive news, most would agree

You don't have 9,000 season ticket holders though.

not quite sure what your point is here. Season ticket holders are allowed more than one ticket you know.

It was the Wiganer who made the first puerile comment, so it's fair game to reply in kind. Plus, if you've never seen the generalisations thrown about on the Pie board should one Wire fan have the temerity to ever make an optimistic remark then you've been hiding. You are the prat for not getting it. Let's give you a chance. Do you agree that it's good for the game for either Warrington [ior [/iHuddersfield to win the cup?

| Personally I think it's greta that Warrington or Huddersfield will win the cup.
I find it sad that we have some (not all!) fans living in the past. I'm a Wiganer and I know my team were once the greatest in RL; sadly that's not the case any more.
Some of us need to live in the now.

The question 'seeing as none of the glamour/famous clubs are present in the final, what do the RFL need to do to sell the game to new people?'
NOT how many fans will they take. That question has been done to death.'"
I think you are deluded sun shine. The glamour club is in the final...Warrington. Squad of top class internationals, current England coach, purpose built stadium ( that they own) and a wealthy backer who is prepared to spend his money.
Whereas Wigan - tenants in a football stadium, coach they appear to want rid of. Owner who has by his own admission admits there will be limited recruitment next season.
The only negative is that saints were not in the final to showcase the two dominant forces of north west rugby.

And there you have it folks.......The reason why most Wigan fans will be shouting for the Yawkshurr team in the Final.
Just remind me again of what Warrington have won since Noah was a lad?
Dire delusions of the very highest order!!

The only thing you should care about is that big chip on your shoulder. Just get over the fact that an average Wigan team arent going to Wembley

Yes, as I've intimated in earlier posts on this thread.
I remember the era well when it wasn't always either Wigan, Leeds or Saints. In fact, you can discount Leeds from this equation because they haven't won it so regularly enough, even in recent times, to be included. I remember the era when it wasn't always either Wigan or Saints.
There are different forces at work regarding the cup now, IMO, but I don't think it makes a great deal of difference. At one time it didn't matter who won the CC Final to the vast majority of UK residents, because all these romantically dingy northern mill-towns were the same, and the BBC loved to present it as a kind of Ekithump day-out We don't sell it that way any more, for which I'm heartily glad. But thanks to Sky, it's the only chance most folk, who aren't from the heartlands, get to see of RL these days. In which case it's positive that it's neither Wigan or Saints in the final, because - okay, yeah, maybe Huddersfield and Warrington aren't as famous - but at least it shows that it isnt just Wigan and Saints playing the game.
Not that I think it matters a great deal even at that level. I don't think RL interests the majority of the UK populace, so the main viewers will be people who already follow the game, and for them to have a well-balanced cup final which isn't going to have a predictable outcome - as it always did with Wigan in the early 90s, and with Saints in more recent times - is a far more attractive proposition.
I think it has the potential to be a superb game, and that it will most likely sell out.
