Charnley has been picked on the wing as he has speed to burn and is a big lad who does a lot of work plus - Cudjoe lacks confidence, Hall seems to be a plodder, Goulding isn't as good as Charnley, Fox has almost dissapeared from the player he was 2 years ago.
That would be my current team, it may change next week.'"
Any team without Widdop is nonsensical, unless you have forgotten him.

| Ryan Hall is the second best English winger we have (Briscoe just ahead). Unfortunately, he looks completely average every time he pulls on an International jersey.

To be fair, so do most Englishmen.

Where did I say he wasn't?
Seriously though, McIlorum in the England team when Roby is playing 80 minutes at hooker? Just why?
MM isn't even the second best english hooker anyway. It makes no sense and is just club bias to a ludicrous degree.

But Roby won't play the full eighty for England, and replacing him with Robinson is replacing like for like in style of play.
McIlorum showed in the Grand Final what he capable of and the same in the game at Widnes. He can hurt in defence and is no slouch with the ball.

Come on Rogues, there's no way he should be in a first choice England 17. No way.

You know I'm going to disagree, as I've said for about three or four years that he would be an International player, and it looks as though I have been proved correct.

I did forget him TBH but when you are playing the worlds best teams I am all for already formed parterships making the best team, not neccessarily the best players but the best team.
Having Widdop who maybe better than Brown or Maguire gel with Brough in a matter of a couple of weeks and a freindly makes no sense to me, I would rather have a already gelled halfback/centre - winger partnership anyday. Like Yeaman and Briscoe.
It's not team bias having McIllorum in, he can hit hard, has good distribution and a decent kicking game.
Charnley, I would give a chance in the warm ups, Cudjoe and Hall have been tried and are good athletes but I think they lack a 'rugby brain'.

Do you think the Aussies would consider taking off Cam Smith to be replaced by a steady, solid hooker with aggressive defence but a very limited game with the ball in hand?
So we play Roby until the defence tire a bit then bring on . . . . . McIlorum? MM is miiiiiles behind Luke Robinson in the pecking order for a hooking shirt.
I still think Roby will do 80 minutes anyway, he does it week in week out for Saints - one of the fittest players I've ever seen.

| 6 pages of bitching and not one congratulations to Paul Prescott for making the squad? Been awesome this season Prescott, so consistent and reliable and thoroughly deserves his place.
My only complaint with that squad would be the omission of Lee Mossop. Gaz Hock I think might be in the mix come the actual time of the tournament.
