Not gonna read the rest of the thread because you're bang on. Had Wellens done that at Latics he would have been killed. When Graham threw the ball at the ref, he too would have been killed.
We saw it at Leeds. Yes, celebrate a win, but don't complain if you provoke people and get a kicking. |

that's the point though. He wasn't at a latics match, this is rugby league. I remember Richie mathers and JJB fir the rhinos celebrating by cheering and roaring at the saints speccys after scoring. Nothing happened though. Stop trying to talk away and hide what happened it was unaccaptable at a rl game full stop. |

I was hoping the Leeds incedent was a one of and I almost justified it with the Leeds players celebrations.
However, throwing ale in particular seems to be a growing trend at Wigan.

I'm sure the people that did it spent the entire 80 minutes politely applauding everything the Saints players did well.
The fans that love to dish out constant abuse are the ones that cannot take it when opposition players give a bit back, they are the ones that need to grow up. |

re: the beer incident. What did the Saints players expect to happen celebrating in the way they did in front of the Wigan fans. Celebrate with your teammates and your own fans by all means, but to celebrate like that is goading at the end of the day and they should've expected a reaction. The poster earlier who said that all clubs has an idiot element is fully justified and unless spectators are subject to some sort of psychological testing and only the ones who can be trusted are let in the ground, then players need to show some respect to fans.
ps the n00b(s) who held on to the flag before the game just make themselves look like idiots and end up ruining the effect the flag is supposed to create. If any of them had done the same with the massive flag that goes round the Kop, there'd be murder |

BUT
