I think its a joke that drug takers like Hock get banned for 2 years but players like Cockayne who beat someone to a pulp get away with no ban is a disgrace.

Cant understand some people and some of the comments there is no way the club should keep him employed, he dosent deserve a second chance the damage is already done. And to those saying he should go to schools and work with kids after what hes done COME ON PEOPLE GET A GRIP.

He should be sacked. He's a professional sports player ffs, he is a role model and represents a club and to some extent a town. I think he wont be sorry he's done it, more likely sorry he's been caught.

And so what if he goes to another club in 2 years time, who's saying someone else who will be here then, who maybe a better player ,deserves to lose his place to a beakhead.

TBH though it was a shame Hock wasn't playing at the end of the KR game tho when that THUG came in with his elbow. While two wrongs dont make a right he could do with a bit of hock treatment/ take his head off/ elbow to the face.

I wonder how many would want to keep a cocaine user if he was an apprentice, or a steward, or someone in the ticket office? It seems in the main that people want to keep hold of Hock purely for his rugby skills. I wonder if it was Tim Smith, or Richie Mathers would they be after the same result?

From what I understand the ban coming from the national sporting executive means he will have his registration terminated so I can,t see the point in Wigan keeping him.

I'd keep him in some capacity for a couple of reasons 1, to give him the support that he obviously needs and obviously wasnt getting prior to getting caught, why let a talent go ta complete rack and ruins. 2, beacuse although he's broken the rules he deserves another chance. Of all the people on here how many can hold their hands up and say honestly they've never done something wrong at work, how many have never pinched a roll of sellotape, some pens or paper etc etc just becasue you haven't been caugh suddenly it must be ok to do it. Yes he's been caught red handed he'll take his punishment and carry on
