Taking high balls was never really his problem at Wigan, he was pretty solid in that respect.

Bravery was an issue whilst at Wigan and is unwillingness to jump on loose balls, make one on one tackles etc.

That all stemmed from confidence issues though imo not a lack of effort.

The best way to exploit Mathers is to chip over the defence and make him come forward to attack the ball.

He usually ignores the ball and attacks the opposition player.
