and as for Ablett and whatever he's called (the wrecking ball) its just part of the game hands in false head into face elbows on floor, always has been, and long may it continue, this is Rugby league after all.'"
Im not having that mate, surely a crusher tackle would have at least seen you spend 1 game on the sidelines
As for Ablett, no way will he get in any trouble for something that happens multiple times in every game, Im not a huge fan of it as I like the game to be played hard but fair, but if he keeps playing well then I dont really care tbh

He hasnt got nearly as many rings as our captain... or former captain... or even Ian Kirke for that matter
Ooooooookkkkk?
Not sure what how many grand final wins someone has won has to do with this particular discussion?
Pretty sure someone mentioned that they hope lockers plays next time we meet (along with mickey mac/Bateman etc.) as ablett/ferres wouldn't be so keen to push their luck.
If every reply is based on how many winners rings/medals someone has then we may all pack in and sit back that Leeds can't do no wrong as an ex player once won more medals than everyone who currently plays now.
Every discussion is null and void because of that?
Oh wait
I'd play the sean Edwards card but keep forgetting RL only started 96.

To be fair my mate made the same observation yesterday about what was accepted then as opposed to now and I did concede the point to a degree. However, we'll have to disagree about Ferres' intent. IMO it was quite deliberate with malice afore thought. I'm one that remembers the violence of the old days and would welcome back a bit of biff but this was a pretty bad effort and I'd be amazed if he only gets 1-2 for it.

| From today's press conference:
On Oliver Gildart: “He’s seeing a neurologist today. It’s a serious back injury and he’ll be out for two to three months.” SW
On the incident: “We’ll let the powers that be deal with it. My job is to get the team ready for Thursday.” SW

What a nightmare for Gildart who was playing his way into the England squad on his early season form.
However long Ferres gets won't help Wigan one iota. We don't play them again until July. I'm pretty sure it won't be forgotten though.

I wonder how the disciplinary will view that "tackle" now in view of Gildarts condition. I think they can add to the suspension if the injury is deemed to be long term and caused by foul play.

too be fair i have seem far worst tackles in recent years even it the sanitized modern game, and ferres has been both the tackler and victim of them. he's ridiculous wrestling suplex piledriver on jonny lomax was far worse and worthy of a long ban, he was also the victim on rangi chase cannonball tackle on was out for weeks with that. i think if this was just ferres one on one tackle and resulted in the crusher tackle then fair enough 6-8 match ban, but others were involved and Gildart does push back with the legs and this combined with delaney being on top of ferres results in this unfortunate tackle.
when people take their blinkers off they will see that's its careless and irresponsible but ultimately unfortunate that the lads got injured.
personally dont care much for ferres full stop we have better players than him and stevie ward due back anyway so ban him for as long as they like.

I think the big difference is not that he ended up on top of him. I'd agree with you if that we the case. You can't ignore that the tackle was done, he picked him up and dumped him back down. That's the big I and I assume the others have. It suggests intention as without it, why would you do that?

i suppose only ferres knows if he did it deliberately or not, i'm giving him benefit of doubt on this and that its sloppy careless and irresponsible rather than malicious. either way i have no problem with a ban. but its not up there with newton smashing longs jaw, chase smashing that kids at fevs jaw, moriarty smashing waddels jaw. harrogon trying to decapitate ian lucas or any of that ilk.
Tompkins trying to remove burrow's head via his eye sockets well thats another story thats got to be two match has it not.

| It was a horrible tackle to watch and I am expecting at least six matches for Ferres, anything less and he's a lucky man.

Or maybe Ablett gouging Nuaasala if you would like it adding to your list.

the gouging that only exists in the eyes of those with an anti Leeds agenda. just like the hardaker homophobic claims, (the second one), this was a sensible debate until now.

Everyone has biases though pal, don't pretend you'd give anyone from Wigan the same benefit of the doubt you afford Leeds players.
And i thought you were being quite sensible until you mentioned Tomkins getting a ban. May as well make it tag rugby if that's a ban!
