| He was, wasn't he? How harsh it would have been to drop Marshall, especially when he made that wonderful Nofoaluma-esque finish!

| I'm happy with that. This morning I had a nagging worry about so many formerly injured players returning, meaning they probably wouldn't be up to speed, especially in terms of match fitness. Anyway -turned out nice again!

| Once the returnees get up to match fitness hopefully the attack will click into gear. Nice to have a win after the last four weeks though.

| All the Saints fans moaning about the lack of calls from the ref
He gave a knock on against Farrell that he never dropped just before their first try and he also gave a knock on against Tomkins near the end when Escare scored which was never a knock on. Score should've been 35-12.

| Budgie was superb all game. Gelling looked like he was off the pace a bit and I just hope his injury is properly sorted. Once a few of these lads are back to fitness we'll be fine. I do fear for Saints though. Although they were down to 12 men and gave it a good effort, they do lack a good attack and they'll not make top 4.

The "forward pass" as well that was called when Lockers put Farrell clean through. Looked perfectly fine to me.

My first thought was forward, on replay I wasn't so sure. The ref doesn't get the replay though.

| The Faz one was just about correct but the Joel Tomkins one to Escare was 100% fine and should've stood.

I agree mate. Having watched it back when I got in from the match I thought it was a fair call. The last one was definitely backwards but hey ho.
It's interesting how so many Saints fans are saying Amor shouldn't have been sent off. We all know the 1st contact wasn't high but he was reckless in his actions and could have done some real damage. For me Thailer got it spot on and now Amor has been charged with grade B offence. If he pleads guilty he'll get two matches reduced to one.

Which, for me, is fine, fair, and appropriate.

I can't agree. Amor was going for a big hit, made contact with the chest and slipped up, sometimes these things happen. My first thoughts, like most other people's was that it was a bad one and a red card, replays showed differently.
I recall, at least on a couple of occasions SOL doing a similar thing. IIRC there was one against Wakefield last season, I argued then that because initial contact was fair and the arm bounced up off the ball a penalty was sufficient, I hold the same opinion for the Amor one.

There is a responsibility on the tackler to remain in control of the tackle and the player has a duty of care to his opponent. Its clear there was no intent but his tackle was reckless and its was only down to luck that Marshall didn't suffer serious injury. I think they've got this one spot on, all we need now is consistency. Grade B is about right and he'll get 1 game with EGP which I think is fair enough.

I think it was careless, rather than reckless, but deserving of a one match ban.

It was a reckless tackle that put another professional in danger.
He can feel hard done to because he hit the ball and his arm slipped up, but at the end of the day he put himself in that position by swinging his arm on a side stepping WR in the open field.
Red card was warranted.
