| It should be someone that people can still relate to/recognise outside of RL. A lot of the names in here don't fit that. Edwards or Offiah (or both!) would be ideal.

| I think it should be a Wire player to celebrate their dominance. After all we got the pies why they got the prize. I hope the marketing manager at Wire is still cringing as much as i am.

| Having read the thread I would now switch my preference to Edwards first then Hanley because it is Wembley and Edwards was the constant through Wigan's Wembley run. He is relatively recent so would mean more to people and nobody could argue about his quality as a player or his Wembley pedigree.
I think some fans of other clubs are showing themselves up in this debate with their stupid arguments that Edwards shouldn't be recognised for his rugby league career due to having been a successful RU coach.

But it is England's national stadium and a celebration of rugby league, and we would have the current Welsh rugby union coach as our symbol, who when playing for England at Wembley got himself sent off.
A great player, but maybe not for a rugby league commemoration. Hanley yes.

| Quote: French Ray "...........surrounded by 4 Saints players grasping at thin air.
Lol got me there but he is the finest player I have ever seen.
I haven't seen the likes of Boston,Murphy(who my dad say is the best player ever)Vollenhoven and the list is endless.
For me what it is about Hanley he had a presence like no other RL player in history,in my eyes he is a God.

| How about Jeff Lima holding his Lance Todd trophy aloft and a plaque reading "Jeff Lima: I don't even know who Lance Todd is to be honest".

But he is a legend of RL and he is recognised outside of RL. Unlike the Foxes.

| The only player who could go in without argument is Hanley.
Star player.
I would personally have Bevin or Boston. I like Yed's suggestion. 3 wins with 3 teams. I know this isn't the place to say it but ... Alex Murphy

I'm sure there would be argument with Hanley as well, he went off to coach union don't forget.
The problem with Hanley is you need the statue to stay there for the long term....whats to say a statue of Hanley wouldn't end up leaving after one season?

| I've no idea who it should be but .......... whoever it is must be universally popular; which would rule out Shaun Edwards, who was hated by most non Wigan fans.
