In that regard based on this seasons form it is Myler hands down, ([size tomkins the better player i agree)[/size'"

The bit I underlined.
'Hands down' Myler is a better halfback?
I'd sooner have Sam at 6 or 7 any day than Myler.
But everyone's entitled to a view. I just don't agree with yours on this matter.

Tomkins is the better fullback and had the most impact this year.
Eastmond still had thr most potential for me. Just looks very unlikely to fulfill it due to his attitude.'"

| Myler isn't better than Jonny Lomax, never mind Sam Tomkins.

| Eastmond is a good un and it's a shame he's gone but he was never better than Sam.
The comments though in the original post, just go to show how bitter and twisted some posters are. They must go to bed each night and pray that all things Wigan are obliterated from the earth. Suppose it's the old british thing of, whilst not exactly admiring failure they just hate success.

I wouldn't bother. This is the poster who stated on the Wire board that Matt King is better than Pat Richards. Some people just have the tinted specs superglued on...

| Tomkins is a great player, he'll make a break out of nothing, one flaw he does have though is he's not much of a passer, when Sammy boy gets that ball he won't let go unless he's about to have his head taken off, hands like velcro!

hey dont stop there pal..... your on a roll...
Fielden is better than James Graham and Adrian Morley
Paul Deacon is pace and youth personified (and a Wigan lad) and no way would he be swapped for Myler or Lomax.
Gaz Hock is simply the best in the world and if he hadnt took drugs he would be in the NRL ripping them pansies new backsides as we speak....Ben Westwood and Tony Puletua are crappin emselves right now.....FACT

Funnily enough, I didn't see him say any of that, just that Matt King is no better than Pat Rcihards, which is true.
Your extremely raw nerves are duly noted.

I still think Tomkins a better half back than Myler but at the end of the day, you're a wire fan and I'm a wigan fan we are hardly going to ever agree on that are we?! haha.
And I agree with the potential for Eastmond what an idiot he was throwing that away he could have been something truly special if his mind had been in it. I dont actually think its his body I think it was a fear thing he felt the slightest niggle and wouldnt play for weeks I reckon. I cant see someone his age being so succeptible to injury without anything severe to cause it (a la Dean Ashton in football) but we will see when he goes to union. Hes still a loss to RL whatever anyone says but at least we still have tomkins, myler and widdop for England and maybe ratchford in a couple years.
But I bet we can both agree on one thing? Those fans quoted by Rogues are idiots.

| Whether it be half back, fullback, whatever, Sam Tomkins is a far better rugby league player than Myler, end of debate.

Not least because, regardless of whether it involved a Wiganer or not, they were passing extremely early judgements on a self-evident immense talent. None of that lot could have felt anything less than utterly stupid once Rogues recollected those comments.

I don't recall ever saying any of that...
For what it's worth, I think Graham is the best prop forward in the competition and I'll be sorry to see him go to the NRL. Fielden at the moment on his day is just as good as Morley, although Morley is a hell of a lot more consistant. Go back a few years and everyone (even Saints fans - not saying you are one, just making a point) said he was the best front rower in the world. You don't become garbage that quickly.
I don't think anyone on this board with a modicum of sensibility about them will even for a second try to claim that Paul Deacon has pace or youth on his side. What he does have is a huge wealth of experience to bring to the team and pass on to the younger lads, so you're correct in your assumption that Lomax, and certainly Myler, would be kept out of the Wigan team by him. Showed enough pace to set up Gleeson's second try at Old Trafford in October, mind...
It's impossible to say for certain where Gaz Hock would be right now career-wise if he hadn't been an idiot two years ago. He certainly showed signs of having the potential to play in the NRL. However, I for one can't wait to see him back and see what he can do. Most sensible people aren't expecting him to set the world alight as soon as he's back, although we wouldn't complain.

You'd have Deacon in before Lomax?

If lomax wasn't alot younger and so we could get more years then yes. I'd have deacon on the pitch ahead of him right now so short term yes long term no.
