As a Hull fan I must admit I dont agree with the club on this one, however based on the average amount of away supporters that attend the KC (probably about 300, excluding Rovers) I can see why the club have chosen to do this. Obviously it's a kick in the teeth for opposition supporters and its a shame but any 'boycott' that took place from away fans would probably go unnoticed. FWIW Wigan are generally one of the better turnouts at the KC, but it's the clubs choice, rightly or wrongly.

But Hull are partially responsible for low away numbers by playing games on a Friday night.
I see they have now switched back to Sunday which is the appropriate resolution. I don't see why they need such high ticket/admission prices as well.

| Why would you want to go to Hull anyway?
Both times I've been a section of home 'fans' have been baiting us inside and outside the ground, and one year a yob threw a brick at our coach, breaking the window.
Sorry, but I shouldn't have to feel unsafe at games.
The Hull fans did a great job of making away fans feel unwelcome at their ground, and now evidently the Hull officials have taken their lead from them.
If they don't want us, then they can have it their way, can't they? It's their loss.

I still remember the last day of the 'relegation' season when they started fighting amonst themselves in the North Stand of the JJB

To be fair even when we used to play on sunday afternoons, away support was never anything startling. Like I say though, I arent defending the club on this one because I think they've got it wrong, I just think that regardless of pricing/ko time, etc we won't see a great deal of difference with away numbers because we never have. Barring Rovers, theres probably only the lancashire clubs who bring decent numbers.

| Quote: east hull FC fan "You see, your problem is that your seeing the difference in price and not grasping why.
The fact is that there's no change in price unless you pay on the day, and when your club receive 10% on tickets purchased beforehand I don't see why you would?
The difference in price in the south stand is a direct reaction to the fact that our gates are down 2,000 due to people becoming disillusioned by the Hetherington/Agar effect. The tickets have been discounted by Pearson to entice those fans back. That's it.'"
The Hetherington/Agar effect has nothing to do with away fans, and therefore they should not be penalised.
Your gates will be down by more than 2000 this year if both your FANS and your BOARD insist in treating away fans in this way. It's bad business, bad for the spirit of the game, and if you continue with this, then you ought to be removed from Super League. It's quite simple, really.

| Just had a mooch on the Hull Forum to get their view on the matter and came across this gem
Quote: ComeOnYouUll "Just to point out, including petrol money/coach fares Hull and Rovers fans spend more as away fans than the other clubs in the north of England as we have further to travel.
Warrington have a number of near neighbours. Widnes, St Helens and Wigan all within 13 miles or so I believe which is like Hull playing away games in Beverley, Brough and South Cave.'"
so its our own fault for being geographically close, why didn't we realise? it all makes sense now...

| So let me get this right.....
Instead of helping fans afford the trip over,t pennines, Hull penalise us for living so far away as their own fans travel too..........
What on earth is going on ?
I shall not be going, and I hate missing games, but we cannot make thier bias efforts pay them dividends or each club will begin to see the travelling supporters as an xtra cash cow to be milked as much as possible.
Hell, its just like the RFL do at internationals

| First things first, i want to put on record that i don't agree with clubs charging away fans more money than home fans for an equivalent view, and before making my mind up one way or the other on whether i think hull should change their policy, i do have one question. is this the pricing policy for the whole season, or just a couple of games.
one more thing, just to play devils advocate, how many huddersfield fans were given free tickets for the wigan game, i know quite a few wigan fans got free tickets... is that fair?

The 2 aren't even comparible
Giving away free tickets to home fans to boost attendance has been done since the game was created (probably). Charging away of fans more to watch the same game thn home fans is downright outrageous

Depends how many Huddersfield fans are good friends with Wigan season ticket holders? I know a few huddersfield fans who got their ticket off a Wigan season ticket holder because they were sat in front of me. Those free tickets are just one of the benefits of being a season ticket holder, part of the package and completely irrellevant to this topic, unless you want to include every other benefit season ticket holders get as well?

Warrington fans got a response that repeated the lie that the prices hadn't been increased for away fans from the prices last season.

whichever way you look at it, away fans are paying more, either by being charged more, or by home fans being given discounts/freebies.
